ok, I am not much of a reader...
I use to be, but the lil man has sucked out all of my senses and I cannot read for very long without my mind wandering. sad but true.
anyhoo....
Whilst on vacation this past week, I decided that I was going to take a book and read it. all of it. lol
I took
The Yellow House
by Martin Gayford.
It is about the 9 weeks that Vincent Van Gogh and Paul Gauguin spent together in Arles, and the circumstances surrounding the ear cutting off business.
I was so pleasantly surprised by this books for 2 reasons.
1. I buy books, based on the cover work, and then hardly ever get around to reading them. But I knew this was about VanGogh and he is one of my favorite artists. and the cover work is fabulous, btw.
2. It included tons of letter sketches and paintings that I was not familiar with and the circumstances surrounding most of the paintings. Very informative stuff.
anyway, if you are looking for a good, inspiring, makes you wanna pick up the brushes and paint kinda book, this is one.
enjoy!
deanna
p.s. anyone else read this one??
I'd love to know what you thought!

I also loved this book! It surprised me because sometimes those historical non-fiction books can read a little bit dry - but this one was an easy, interesting read! Definitely would recommend it to any art fan!
