I am outside in our backyard in our new "Vacation Home" tent. LOL Somehow, I got wrangled into camping out with the kids and Bob who have been sleeping in our smaller tent for the last four nights. It's actually really cool, it has like three "rooms" and plenty of space for all seven of us. The kids swam, we FINALLY put together the outdoor fireplace that I bought in December, and made s'mores and then Waylen (my 13 yo), Mona, LG and me played a game outside on the table, and now we are all snug in our beds...10 feet from the back door. I feel like a real live mom right now. Bob has been making me cut down on my whole "work every waking minute" thing I've had going for about the last...um, year or so. ;) It's actually, kind of fun, and heck if I can have my laptop, I am in good shape. More time for me to hang out with my SISters. :)
OK, that was more like a blog post...which reminds me, I really need to post on my blog at some point too...<sigh>
OK, off to spread more LUB!!

Yes, I agree.
My parents used to let me and my brother camp out in the backyard when we were little, and it was some of my favorite memories!

that's what i call roughing it!!
the perk is that you still get to have indoor plumbing too! that's my kind of camping!!

That sounds sol fun! My daughter and her friend had a camp out sleep over last weekend. I, however, did not sleep out with her. You are a better mom than I! Have fun sleeping out in the tent tonight.

Well the only reason I agreed to sleep out here tonight (seeing as how they've been sleeping out here for the last four nights since school got out), is because Bob put together my fireplace and we built a fire and roasted marshmallows. :) You can always get through to me with food...

Oh, that sounds so cool! I'm going to a camping in the South of France, this summer, for the first time in my life. We will do a rehearsal next sunday. Kind of scary to me, but reading this makes me looking foreward to that :-)

I feel like a real live mom right now.
I've had those moments here lately. It's like - WOW you are really doing it - you are really a mom of two boys!

We have been playing in the tent in the backyard also. too chilly at night to sleep there yet though (Michigan). The kids can't wait to try it though!

Oh wow, that sounds like so much fun...its nights and days like this that the kids will so remember...I hope you took lots of pics too so you can scrap that today!!!! TFS, makes me want to get a tent and give it a try :-))

Well, I survived the night! Bob came in really late and kept waking me up because he was catching moths in the tent and the throwing them outside...zipping and unzipping the door like 20 times...I am a really light sleeper so I would doze off and then hear "ZZIIIPPP" and wake up...this happened over and over and over. LOL About 8:00a this morning the kids were all awake and talking so Bob and I went inside and got in our bed...and slept for like two more hours. LOL

That is the only type of camping I could do! I think even a motor home for me would be a bit to rustic! I am a hotel travel type of girl all the way!
