this tut has been an idea brewing in my head for a long time! the purpose is to offer very simple tips for shooting photos of your art/scrapbooking layouts. it's exactly what i needed, and couldn't find when i first started photographing my stuff. i hope you find it helpful! thanks for looking!

Superb info!
as an amateur watercolorist, I agree, it IS all about the light!
Any more tips on how to keep the whites nice and clean?
Thanks, Becky

i tend to like my images a little on the warm side, so i'm probably not the best person to ask on this! i do shoot my photos in raw, so i have the option to cool things down if i want to, and have the whites come out whiter. and i agree that keeping your ISO lower helps too. i generally shoot with my ISO at 100 or 200. there are a couple of other higher tech tricks using photoshop for that too. i forget how they work, but i know i used them on some wedding photos i shot a while ago in a really *yellow lighting* church :)

very helpful do you always prop your pages up to photograph? i usually lay them flat and stand over maybe that's why they don't come out so well

yes, if you have an slr, you would find it on your menu options. i fought switching to raw, because the files are SO huge, but it makes a huge difference in your capabilities to fix things after shooting.
do you always prop your pages up to photograph?
yes, i generally do prop things up. i've tried to shoot down on layouts that are flat, and i rarely have good luck shooting that way. sometimes i've had to do it that way, if something is due early the next morning and it's almost dark. i'll take my project outside and lay it on the deck steps to get as much light as possible. but my first choice is always to prop them up.

definitely going to try this, instead of the 'flat' method.
& thanks Becky, on the jpeg/raw info. I am loving the photo-editing side, and this is sure to be useful.....
