This might sound silly to computer savvy folks, but do all of you have a huge scanner to upload your pages? My portfolio is so sad and empty because my 12x12 pages won't fit on my scanner/printer/copier. I'm sure this will be some really simple fix and I'm going to feel silly, but if you don't ask you'll never know, right?

I take pictures too. Get really really close, then crop off what ever was showing on the edges.

I scan them twice then stitch them together in Photoshop with photomerge or whatever it's name was...there's a number of stitching programs out there too...some come with your camera and stuff so check out these CD's :)

I take pics. My scanner only does 11x17 at the biggest, so I always lose something.
It's very easy to do pics.
1. natural light is your friend 2. turn off your flash 3. use the macro (flower) setting 4. get in tight and straight. 5. crop in photo shop or whatever you use. 6. upload to your portfolio.
It takes a couple of times to get it just right, but it works really well. Good luck!! deanna

Yes I do like this and also I put my Lo on the floor with a light background, you can use 4 sheets of white paper 12"x12" if you don't have a little studio.
And Voilá,ready to upload.
Hope it helps you.

I think most people scan and stitch, but since I don't have a working scanner, I just take pics. Sometimes they are kind of crappy but the point is that I'm putting my work out there. :)

As a traditional scrapper, I scanned in my layouts...I would do one side, rotate 180* and then scan again...and stitch them together using a program I got with my computer (can't remember the name of it now, though).

Good luck and can't wait to see your layouts!!

me too! OK..... I know I don't have anything in my gallery here yet, but I will work on that later.
I have a 10mp camera, so if I take a photo, I have to resize it and save for web in PS. If I don't the file size will be too big and won't upload.

I did it! I have a couple of layouts up. I'll keep working on more when my kids graciously give me the time. Thanks again for all of your help, now if my math test had only been that successful:)

I've written an easy tutorial on using the Photomerge function in Photoshop Elements. You might find it helpful. Though the instructions are for PSE the principles should still work for other photo editing software you might just have to locate the commands in different places.

Wow! I just assumed that everyone else was scanning thier layouts somehow. I'm pleased to learn that I'm not totally alone on the taking pics. Thank you, PraireWillow for the tips, I'm still working on my photo techniques for layouts :)

I scan and photo my layouts.
I purchased a decently priced software from ArcSoft.. it's called Scan and Stitch. You can try out the 14-day trial version.
You scan your 12x12 layouts in 4 sections and make sure there's an overlap of each section you scan. The Scan and Stitch programme stitches it up nicely for you. :)
HTH!

I take pictures of mine! Also my stove light gives enough light to get my layouts photographed if it's too dark anywhere else to take! ;)

My scanner doesn't scan 12x12. I just invest in at stitching programme.... $18 per year.. pretty cheap IMHO. :)
I suck at taking good photos.. but sometimes I do photograph my layouts.

I do photograph the lumpy ones and then scan and stitch the not so lumpy!! Sometimes it is really hard to get a good pic, but just practice, practice practice!
