what inks/pens do i use to write or stamp on pictures...or is that a big no no?

and also, can you make your own transparencies using old school overhead projector sheets and some sort of ink/pen? if so what ink/pen?

thankssss <3

I have used my zig writers and they work really well on glossy photos. I have also used distress inks with no problem. The other thing that I like is using rub-ons that overlap onto part of the photo - for some reason I think it looks professional!

I have used regular transparencies to print on. Some of them have a rough side and that is the side I print on, they really hold the ink well. I also used the transparency setting in my printing media menu - I think this is a common option.

Good luck and have fun playing!

I've used both my white sharpie (paint pen) and Slick Writers by American Crafts. These would both be good on either the photo or a transparency. As far as stamping, Staz-on is great for stamping on slick surfaces. :)

If you check your office supply store, they have special overhead sheets that are printable. You'd buy ink jet or lazer depending on which kind of printer you have. They're really easy to use!

sakura pens work well too - love my uniball signo white & silver too...

if you stamp use stazon on ink - although brillaince does ok too.

transparecies are very cool.. remember to mirroe image the print so its printed in reverse but when you turn it over its the right way with the shiny side out..

writing/stamping on photos is never a no no!!!! It's one of my favorite things to do!

I would reccomend a certain pen to you but to be honest, I have so many and I just grab whatever is closest to me and if that doesn't work out well I grab another one! I'm much too impatient to have dedicated products - I envy those who actually take the time to think about what they use before they use it though!

I agree with printing on overhead transparencies, it's very fun to play around with designs that way.

I'll second the white Uniball Signo! I use it pretty often on my photos. I usually get it writing first on scrap paper and then doodle away!

I like to use slick writers, rub-ons, and transpariences. If I have time I try to photoshop some different elements on to the photos before they are printed.

I can't wait to start playing with overheads. I love the idea of putting a rub on on part of the picture- looking forward to trying that too.

the slick writer is a new fave. If you want what, go with a uniball signo, or a sharpie poster paint pen.

I love StazOn and Color box chalk.

I have a Zig that's made specifically for photos--check for it at your LSS. Otherwise, the slick writer is a great option too.

HTH!

Yup, yup...StazOn rocks for photos. Tho, I love "writing" on them in Photoshop first and them printing them...get some cool effects that way.
