I've been a collector of scrappy stuff for a while and have done some lo's with lots of fear bc im not very creative.
anyway, one of the things that i have a few or but have never used are multiple color ink pads. the colors are right next to eachother so how am i supposed to use one color only at a time? i should confess that when i bought these i only did because they were cheap and turns out theyre not so bad-theyre the colorbox ones.
does anyone have any advice or am i 'supposed' to use all three colors? i made the mistake of using one pad the other night and got the lighter colors dirty with the darker ones next to it-now, how am i gonna clean that?

hmm no idea - let me know when you get an answer because I have a rainbow inkpad that I never use since I don't know what to do with it.

Hi Sandritaaaaa!
Multiple color inkpads can be used in a number of ways. Some of them (like the petal point variety) have a way that you can remove just one color and use it individually. Some other ones - like the kaleidacolor pads, are made to produce a rainbow effect. YOu just rub and pat your stamp on them (being careful not to rub side to side to avoid mixing the colors) and when you press down on the paper you get a rainbow effect. If I can find an example I will link it here.
I hope this helps! Good luck with your stamping!

P.S. What's the name of your inkpad? I might be able to be more helpful if I knew which one you were dealing with...

Oh, another neat thing you can do with the kaleidacolor ink pads is make pretty backgrounds with a brayer and glossy cardstock. Just ink up the brayer and roll it over the cardstock and it makes a cool rainbow effect.

there may be a way to take each ink pad off and use it individually. check under the rubber to see if there is something that looks like a little handle.
otherwise, you can use them together and produce a rainbow effect - either as a background (with a brayer - do you have one of those?) or a stamped image. You can rub your stamp or brayer vertically to ink it up - just don't rub horizontally.
let me know how it goes - i will help further if I can...
good luck Sandritaaaa!

im gonna look at them tonight again to see if they do have a handle but i dont hink i saw one there last time i checked.
i guess it will be nice to use it to create a rainbow effect but sometimes i just want the middle color on my large stamp and i wanted to not have to go get that color in a large stamp alone =/
thanks for all your help

You can also use a cosmetic sponge to soak up one color and then pat your stamp with that--great way to distress paper edges too instead of using the whole stamp pad. For the light color that is stained with the darker color, maybe just keep pressing on the stain with a washrag or paper towel until all the color is lifted off?
