ok! so if i missed anyone or got anything wrong OR if you signed up and realized you just can't commit, please email me staceyfike@yahoo.com

you should send me your cards, $4, & a return address before 5/30 (delivery confirmation strongly suggested) and i will return your set 6/1

the theme is rainbow and the challenge is to use texture. you can make one card of each color or put all colors on each card, it's totally up to you!

the only rule is that you have fun!!!

yay!

I'm all about being on time. Don't want to be the new kid and labeled a "Flaker" right off the bat. Thanks for the warm welcome as well. I'm hoping for a new addiction, and you seem to be just the enablers I need

I googled ATC yesterday to learn more about them. I'm still a little in the dark about the whole set vs. series thing. If it's a set, they're all the same theme. If it's a series, I'm a little lost on that. Is it cards that are duplicates (kind of like collector plates, where they're the same plate, but only so many are made and they're numbered). Also, we decorate the front, and then but what all info on the back.

Thanks so much again for the warm welcome, and thanks in advance for all the patience and help with my questions!

I'm out of town til tomorrow, and I work four 10 hr shifts, but plan to get the juices flowing through the week and having a card fest over the weekend (I'm off Mondays, so they're three days long! wooHOO!) and see what my virgin venture comes out as!

I think this could be the beinging of little brain breaks between scrapbooks so that I don't get scrapper's block on my books!

I'm like a little kid just waiting for school to get out for the summer!

Peace,
Lynn

i couldn't tell ya the diff b/w set and series - i usually just make all mine the same, but for this swap b/c i'm in 3 groups i'm making 3 different sets of 10 - does that make sense? on the back most people put their sis name, real name, blog and stuff like that - sometimes the date. don't worry though, there really aren't any rules, no one is very picky...

Zeeksmom/Lynn...I am in all 3 groups....I have a series of "War" ATC's I made. I have 2 ATC's from the Civil War honoring my 2 great-great grandfathers who fought on opposite sides of that war. Those 2 cards are a set in the War series. I have 3 ATC's from the Spanish American War those honor 1 of my great grandfathers and 2 of his cousins...WWI....I have five in that set and 8 in WWII and 4 in Korean, 3 Vietnam and 2 First Gulf War, 6 2nd Gulf War.....each different war is a set in the "War" series.

I am working on a series called "Maternal" in this series are seperate sets for the women on each side of my family back 8 generations.

Does this make sense?

Thanks for all the input! I think I get it now....

I'll make all mine the same I think for this go around. I was thinking about going with the theme (rainbows/textures) and then having different items on each card to make it a whole collection, but I don't think I want to go that intricate right now.

I usually make mine all the same for a swap like this - sort of assembly-line style. On the back most people put their name, SIS name and sometimes number their cards.

yeah, I think I'd be more likely to do that if I were keeping the whole set.

Mine are in the mail! Yeah! I had a lot of fun doing these, although I wish I would have made them even more colorful, but I do like how they came out. Hope everyone who gets one likes them!

One more little question.

I have a few ideas worked out, and can't wait to get started this weekend.

The only question I have, is what kind of paper/cardboard do you use? I can get my hands on cardboard that is thicker than cardstock but thinner than cereal box, and then some cardboard that is a little heavier than cereal box and not corregated.

Will any of this work?

Thanks!

Checking in: cards are packed and ready to be shipped tomorrow. Sorry, no sneak peak from me this time: after I carefully sealed the envelope with tape, I remembered that I did not take any pictures...

Sneaks above look great BTW!!!
