I haven't been on here very long, but I've found a thread on circle journals and would like to get in on one. It sounds like there's already a couple in progress, but if there is anyone that would like to get in on a new one, I would be willing to attempt to organize (after researching and maybe messaging a few CJ veterans).

Any bites?

Peace,
Lynn

I'm still learning, but here are a couple of links to threads about them:

http://www.scrapinstyletv.com/forums/23_31359_0.ht ml

http://www.scrapinstyletv.com/forums/23_26771_0.ht ml

I hope these are right, one is one about "Alice in Wonderland" and another one is a thread started last October that I just found while surfing the other night. I still need to dig into them further.

They sound really cool, and I wish I had gotten in on here sooner. I'm also learning I have a lot to learn!

Hopefully we can get some more interest and then I'll try to figure out where to go from there from what I can pick up off here, and maybe see if lotuspaperie would be willing to be a go to for my questions.....

Any more takers out there?

I just might be interested. I'm doing my first for SISiversary but there are so many great topics to do it on.

Would 10-12 be a good number? I'm thinking I'll let this ride for a week and keep bumping it up to see how many we get....

So we each pick a topic? Like mine would be dog pages and when you get mine you do a 2 page layout and send it to the next person. So when i get it back I'll have 20 pages total? What size are we takin? 6x6 ,8x8, 12x12?

I'm thinking 8x8 would be a good size, it wouldn't get too big for mailing, but I maybe I could take a survey and see what everyone wants to do after we get a bigger number, whether they're all the same size, or if everyone decides on their own.

I could take care of getting the addresses around to that we can start passing. Also, we'd have to work out a plan to see how long one should have one before passing it on to the next on the list, and that they all get passed around on time. I've heard about "The Flaker List" and maybe I could refer to that, or adopt that philosophy, or even talk about a "Master Flakers List" on the boards.

I'm thinking maybe we could each decide on what subject we want each of our will be about (so they all wouldn't be the same thing), then post so that everyone has a chance to do some brainstorming on what we want to do for each one before they get to us.

I'm wondering if we may want to pass them all around once after they're all done so we can see what they look like finished, too, but that's a ways off.

Hopefully, we'll have more than three of us pop up on here soon! I'm really excited about getting one started!!!

It sounds good....Hope we get more people on board!!!! I've heard about the flaker list but what can yo do?????

I'm in one where I sent something out and have not heard or seen anything in return but life happens so I'll sit and wait....

Can't wait to get started....When are you going to close it?

I'm thinking we could leave this open at least a week and see how many we have after next Monday (5/18) and go from there.

As for sending something out and not getting something back, all I can say is I can't understand why anyone would go in on something like that where you would have to get something from someone and pass it on. I understand things happen, but could you not post or email or something to communicate. If it was something they couldn't afford to send back, and I wanted back, I would have them send it postage due or something.

Hey there!
I am pretty interested in joining I did one last year on another board, and it went VERY well We all had our own sizes, mine actually ended up being a note-card file box that I altered. We each chose our own theme and ran with it. There was month turn-around time on each one, and after a few delays, it made it home! Let me know if you have any questions, I'll try to help. I will be gone from May 20 - 30th, but if it starts after that, I am in!

we have:

1.zeeksmom
2.Lindalou
3.Pegasus
4.Cherissemi

Are you all in a hurry to start, or would you like to wait til we get ten? I know there are a couple out there right now going around, but maybe there will be some new people see this as they come on.

Another thing I saw on another site (I'm on two now, and lurking around for more!) was that they didn't pass journals, just listed everyone, what their theme was and details (size, tags, sign in page, etc), and then made a list. Once there was a list, it turned into a six month commitment. Everyone has a month to work on the first three, then the second month, they start work on the next three, and mail the journal owners just the pages.

It's just a thought, but I'm thinking the more people the better.

I don't mind waiting.

Maybe people are hesitating because of SISiversary and the time that takes up.

I'm thinking check back on the first when you're back There's a holiday weekend the weekend after this. Even if we get some more, we won't start without, we'll still take some time posting who wants to do what at that point. Have a great trip!

Let's say we leave this open til at least 6/3 (Cherissemi is gone until 5/30 anyway), and go from there. I'm hoping we can get some more people on board. I know there are some around that are worried about flakers! I've hardly been here long at all, but I promise, I'm not a flaker, and I'm a very organized person!

Also, I did see on another site that there is a group doing a collective journal. Each person comes up with a theme, requests (one or two layouts, size, tag info or if they want each person to decorate a tag, etc) and then they are all listed. So far they have ten. The first three on the list are "featured" for a month, and everyone makes pages for those three, mail them off to each person featured, and then the next month, the next three on the list are featured, and it goes from there. We could do something like that here, and each of us could post the pages in galleries we get as we go along so everyone could see what we all got. The one that I'm on has a six month committment and then it is updated from there. Thoughts?....

I still like the idea of each person has a theme. 1 month two do a 2 page layout and mail them to the owner of that theme. this way we see the pages each month. We can post them for all to see. Just my idea.

June 3rd sounds good.I can wait that long. I'll start the paper swap in the mean time.

Let me ask the two people that I want to "borrow" from their threads for details and help on another site if I can copy/paste for a hybrid, or I will work out a starter plan (which asking for players and THEN coming up with a plan is probably putting the cart before the horse, but I'll get it figured out ) over the weekend to fine tune this.

In the meantime, be thinking about themes for the journals!

I'll be back with more details soon!

Lynn
