As far as I know (but I joined for the first time) it is a "mini album" made by several different people. (together you decide on the measures) You can do it in different ways.... make one page and send it on to the next who makes a pages and sends the pages to the next and so on (but who gets the whole thing then in the end?) or every individual chooces one theme and all the others send their pages to that person (so every participant end up with a journal/mini album with her theme) or - the way we were playing, everyone makes a number of pages (we were with 7 "players" so seven pages each) - send that to one "host" who binds it to mini books and send every one of us one complete album. I hope I explained it right?!
(Maybe there's more - fill me in if I forgot something!)

I believe the traditional method of doing a circle journal is that the journal's owner picks a theme. And the hostess of the swap assigns a rotation so that the journal will make its way to each participant and they scrap their interpretation of the theme and when it reaches the last person in the rotation they send it to the owner who now has a circle journal of their theme.
Example:
My theme is dogs. Let's say me, you, person x, person y, and person z were doing a circle journal.
I would write either somewhere in the journal what my theme was or attach it with a post-it or something. I send it to you. And then it goes through the chain until person z finishes a page, upon completion they would return it to me.
You would send yours to person x and when it made it's way through the chain to me, the last person, I would return it to you and you would then have a circle journal filled with interpretations of your theme.
Clear as mud?

Sorry I haven't posted any updates recently. We found out a few weeks ago that my son and I are both Celiac, so we've had to go through a major diet and kitchen overhaul to get rid of any wheat and gluten. It's been a learning experience! All of my backgrounds are done and my collage pieces are ready, so I hope to get them all assembled today or tomorrow!

Oooer, I'm a bit late aren't I! I thought we were aiming to get them finished by this week, not to get them there..... Can you wait for me? I'll get them off in the next couple of days, you don't need to bind mine, Bree, I'll just send you six lots and keep my own one, and I'll bind them and do the covers myself. Not that this helps with the timing cos you've still got to wait for mine...
I hope this is okay, sorry ladies but I'm furiously busy and I'm amazed I got it done at all!

Gosh, it's taken me ages to get on here! I sent Alice off on Friday, before I left for the weekend.
Bree, please note that I have only sent you six, as mentioned in my previous post. Please don't bind them, I'll do that when I get my lot back. Hopefully this will make things a bit easier.
Also, I managed to forget to put my name on my pieces!!! Durr......So, Bree, if it's okay to send them out like that then please do, and I might just email a label to everyone or something. Otherwise, people feel free to bung my name on the back, which at the moment has pp on it!

OH DEAR!!!
I just received my "Alice in Wonderland" parcel back...
it went all the way to Canada 'cause it has stamps on it but it says "Unclaimed" and I got it back in the post today....
I think I got the address right though...
Oh my, It costs me another $10 to send it again, and it will be very delaided now....
I will send it again this week but I want "the Alice Sisters" to know I "hold up" the swap... so sorry...
