OK, I e-mailed Helen (CherryBlossom) today and told her to stop by at this topic, so she can tell what her wishes are... let's leave it open 'till (as mentioned earlier) May 15th to sign in... After that, signing in is not possible and then we can decide the final "how to do" and "when to send" etc. (sorry, it's a little late, I had a glass of wine... I'm not fresh and my English sucks at the moment... but I'm sure you'll understand what I mean)

I think I would like to join this swap...you're doing 6X6 pages for each person in the group, correct?

Just let me know!

Hi "Alice" girls. A swap is oke but no more than 7 because it is not my favoriet thing to make so many times the same page.

I think we're at 8 with the people who've said they want to play but there's some that haven't checked back...

If I am too late to get in on this because you want to keep the number smaller, just let me know!

Hi ladies. If we're picking characters I'll have the caterpillar. But Linda is right about making the same page 7 times. So could we choose a number of themes - depending on the number of participants - and each do Theme 1 followed by Theme 2, etc. So, the first set of pages in each journal will be people's interpretation of Theme 1, the second set will be Theme 2, and so on.

The themes could either be characters, or - given that the number of participants will no doubt be less than the number of characters - we could do something broader, like 'change' (Alice growing/shrinking, going into a dream world, the pack of cards coming to life, the flamingo being a croquet mallet, changing places at the tea party); 'double trouble' or something, which could be tweedledum and tweedledee, the duchess and the baby, the mad hatter and the march hare, the turtle and the walrus (or is that Through The Looking Glass?), 'Too Much' - that could be Alice bursting out of the house, or the Queen of Hearts just being too much, or the White Rabbit being too late....

I think we could come up with enough themes to be flexible, so that each person could actually do the same character in seven/eight/nine different ways if they wanted to. Or could do a different character each time.

If you want I can have more of a think, go through the book and come up with some themes and then maybe we could choose them between us. I know I don't want to do the same character more then once or twice...

What do you think? (phew!)

Hello there Cherryblossem... you're early! Awake yet?! Think you gave lovely tips here, let's all hear what we think about it...

(And maybe stop the signing in now... then Artsyk is in and that's it... then we have 8 participants I think - didn't count, but AngelaSpangela talked about 8...)

I'll be back on Sis today a number of times (join the fun of playing different games/challenges) so I'll check in from time to time. Now, I first need another coffee to force my mind to go "thinking" again (there's kind of a fog in my head still.....)

Yeh that sounds great the idea of "Cherry blossom" so I can make 8/9 different pages with my Cat??? Did I understand that correctly? My englishc is not that good.

I didn't see making the same page that many times as being a problem. It's small enough that it's not a big deal and it's just like an ATC except bigger...but whatever you ladies want to do.

Hi there "Alice girls"

It's the beginning of May, we have 7 participants (that is, if everybody who signed up still wants to play - and Callista just bowed out ) so I thought of ending the signing in and make some appointments. So this is the deal:

Each one of us makes 7 times a lay out (for there are 7 participants) consist of two 6x6 pages (left & right) - you can put your name/some info on the backside of the leftpage and leave the backside of the right page blank (or patterned paper)

You can either choose to make 7 different lay outs, or 7 the same. That's all up to you.

Feel free to pick any character or theme you like, as long as it refers to "Alice in Wonderland". I know some of you want to pick a character, but if you want to do "an overall feeling" it's OK too. After all, it has to be fun to work with, not a "task".

When you're finished, send all the lay outs to "hotmama" (Bree). She will be hosting this, which means se will collect all the pages, bind them together with a blank (chipboard) cover (so you can design the cover yourself when the finished book gets back to you) and send them back.

Bree will let you know the address where to mail it to later on by pm. Be sure to include a post order when you send your lay outs to Bree! (We don't want her to pay all the mail-costs!)

DUEDATE is set JULY 8th so Americans have the long weekend July 4th to finish it of, if necessary.... you lucky girls!

These are the people who signed in:
Hotmama (Bree)
Maritscrapworld (Marit)
AngelaSpangela
mmmomx2
CherryBlossom (Helen)
LindaLoe
Artsyk

Not everybody checked back on this topic so I will send a pm to every one of you to check if you're still in.

I can't wait to get started - and see what you all make of this. It's the first time I join in something like this and I'm exited! So girls... have fun and LET'S GET STARTED!!! !

Yes, I'm in too. I will check back here a bit more often in future, not in the habit cos I'm a newbie!

Bree, I will have to get in touch about the postal order thing as I'm in England so there may be a better way to do it bearing in mind the currency thing.

I started this week creating the "Alice pages" - and it gets better and better and BEAUTIFUL if I may say so myself... ( this is hard, but I'm not gonna reveal anything! Not yet... )

I let you know when there's a sneek peak.... (I can't resist doing that!)

Oh, and Bree, how much inch (cm?) from the edge should I count for the binding?

Woooohooooo, I'm done ladies!!!
Finished my Alice pages today!

Before I offer you a little peek.... I want to quote this (from a while back)

AngelaSpangela:
Should we send chipboard pieces along with our finished LOs to Bree for the front and back cover??

I think it is a nice idea to send a cover along with our pages, so Bree can work with that. I know I will send a blank chipboard cover with my pages! I will have to check for myself how to send the "shipping money" along with my lay outs (don't know exactly how that works from the Netherlands to Canada) but I suggest that - if you're in Canada like Bree - you can do that in another way (stamps?) You all have to pm with Bree for her address and you can talk about that then.

I will put my pages in a large envelope, so Bree can re-use that to send the journal back to me. (If you had another idea about that Bree, or somebody else has a better suggestion, please let us know)

And now you want to see a sneak peek I guess? Well, I have one more on my blog, but here's a first glimps!

Let us all know if you already started, and how it is coming along!

I finished my "Alice in Wonderland Circle Journal Swap pages"
today. I also prepared a chipboard cover, to send with it. I will be shipping it to Bree this week!!! How is everybody doing???? Started yet?
Remember, the date Bree has to have it is set on July 8th!!!!

If you want to see what I did, I blogged my finished pages today! I won't put it in my gallery (nor on my blog nor at SIS) yet, so if you don't want to see the pages, just don't open the "Alice in Wonderland" post. I made it that way so you can visit my blog and read/look at the rest without seeing anything of Alice!!!
