Again I am not involved in this swap but just want to remind everyone that Life Happens as SassySasha says....if times are hard right now for her as has been stated, then friends and SISters leaving these posts doesnt help. I am sure knowing Elly that she plans to get these out as soon as she can and that she feels badly that they are not back to you already. So I would just like to ask that everyone give her the benefit of the doubt...and please be a little more patient and understanding. (Times are hard for a lot of folks right now in many ways and we need to learn to enjoy this HOBBY for what it is and remember that others may have more pressing life matters that have to be prioritized :-)
I would challenge you to leave her some love today and remind her that she is cared about and that when she does get them out that you will still enjoy them just as much!
Hugs and again thanks for being the loving and supportive friends and ladies you always are today!!!

You're right times are hard for everyone- especially right now. So when I send money to someone for a swap that they flake on using the fact that they don't have the money as the excuse, causes me problems.
This is a hobby and I've made sure my "priorities" are taken care of before I do my hobbies. If she wasn't going to be able to fulfill her commitment to the swap she should not have offered to host the swap.
I was not trying to be mean and hateful and that's why I offered to help her fulfill the commitment. I don't see why I should be put down just because I want my swap back.

Cheery - I was not directing the post to you or anyone else for that matter but I do know that things come up....and maybe not everyone did what you did. All I am saying is too be patient, Elly is a great gal and honestly it is not the end of the world because a swap is late. She has hosted swaps before and has always come through okay?
I get that you want them back as I would too! All I am saying is give her some time to get it together and I am sure you will have them in no time. I know there are a couple of ladies who are trying to help her out.
Hopefully no hard feelings....was just trying to help!!

just my two cents...
Cheery is right, we all included money/postage for this swap--BIT, you're sweet to stick up for Elly, but it would be a helluva lot easier if she would've told us herself she wasn't going to be able to do this, or to send word through someone else, instead of just leaving us hanging...it's not the waiting, or the fact that she's going through a rough time (and I certainly wish the best for her!), but the fact that we've put time and effort into something that we care about and to hear nothing at all for weeks on end, that's the part that makes it hard to be sympathetic.

The hostess has flaked on us. She said herself on this thread that she wouldn't be checking in much if at all. She didn't even have the courtesy to post anything to this swap thread letting us know what was going on. Also, if she isn't planning on checking in again I seriously doubt we'll be getting anything back on this swap. Again, I'm sorry she's going thru hard times, but as stated above, we all are. Self addressed stamped envelopes were sent so there is no excuse for not getting these back.

Just so you know I am not defending Elly but just sayin....let me ask you guys a question? if you found out she was dying of cancer how would that make you feel? All I am saying is that it says more about you as individuals to be more understanding and caring about someone who is obviously struggling to keep the roof over her head and food in her body. I suggest to be creative in finding a way to see this through. I know that someone has offered to go and get them from her next week so maybe this will all work out and you will have them by month end - I am hopeful and an optimist so I will choose to think the best!!
I am not going to be responding any more because I don't want you ladies upset with me and believe I do understand where you are coming from too. I was really just trying to help out as many have been in her shoes. As I have said you have an opportunity as women to give of yourselves with understanding and patience to someone who probably needs it but you can choose to feel how you want. I truly hope you get your inchies soon!!!

Anyone like a cup of coffee to go with that slice of drama?
I for one am adding this swap to the "dead letter office" of swaps, along with the long forgotten but sweetly remembered SIX WORD MEMOIR swap.
It's a sad state of affairs.

not to add gas to the flame but all that has to be done is stick some inchies in my SASE and throw it in the mailbox...it doesn't require money...just a few minutes of time
it is upsetting because alot of us were so excited about this "new" inchies swap...
ok- i am done. thanks for listening (reading)

I understand life happens and I feel bad for her, but on the same note I included a self addressed stamped envelope, so no money is required to mail mine back. What does she mean she does not have the money to mail back if we paid for our own? This is why I pefer to not include cash in these swaps and just include a stamped self addressed envelope.
As for the two sets she has not received I wouldn't wait on them these have been due for months and she should mail our inchies to us without them.
She really needs to come on here and take care of this. If not fair to the people who had theirs done and our now waiting on them.

Ladies, please, let's keep perspective.
Hosting these swaps is no picnic.
And this drama is really ugly.
And don't we all have better ways to spend our time and emotional energy?
I have sent money for swaps, and gotten nothing in return. I think it's a risk you take in sending money and cards to a virtual stranger. I can relate to that part.
I have hosted swaps and been late....typically because someone's late cards have changed my own timeline for getting it done. I can relate to that part.
But honestly, in the grand scheme of things, how important is this issue? And how much of your own life and energy are you willing to spend on something that likely isn't going to change the outcome, whatever that may be.
Life is too precious.

thanks to everyone who has been kind in thinking about me in a positive light.
first - not everyone did send in SASEs, and so unfortunately i will have to shell out a bit of cash. which is not a problem, but for the past few months i haven't had ANY extra cash. i'm overdue on several bills and so money for the swap has been the last thing on my mind.
second - i still haven't received a few entries. so i was lingering a bit in that as well, hoping they would come in. they haven't.
third - i should have updated more, and i apologize for that.
fourth - i will try to get them out either this weekend (i may have a few dollars to spare this paycheck) or next.
i am sorry that those of you who are upset are upset. i can't change that. thank you to those of you who were willing to throw me a rope, as it were.
part of it, too, and this is totally on my end, somehow i feel as though i have failed in general in scrapbooking (don't ask, i don't know) and have put everything away and don't even want to look at my supplies. so this whole thing is like pushing on an old bruise. :/

ok, so i've been through all the packages. i used to think that hosting a swap sounded like fun. i've changed my mind. there are 22 of us. so you will each get a couple of yours back. not everyone sent 25, there are a couple with 26 and one with 24. 6 people did not send postage.
elly forwarded the hostess gifts to me as well. there are a couple things that are personal gifts that i will send back to her including the gnome book mark and photos. i wanted to tell you so you aren't surprised if you see a goodie you sent to her on one of my layouts. :) so, thanks for the goodies.
i will hopefully be able to get these out by the end of this week. i still have to sort them and pack them up.

no, i'm not worried about the postage, just stating why it was so confusing. not a big deal. some are heavier than others, but i doubt it will cost more than 2 stamps apiece.

Heather you are awesome for taking over the hosting duties. I'll be glad to send you more postage if needed too. *scratches head hoping not to be one of the non-post senders*
Excited to get these back.
