I dont want to go into a HUGE I HATE bust buy rant so I wont.. But due to some what I call crappy fine print.. Im in the market for a new camera.
I thought I had bought the plan where if you drop your camera it gets replaced but NOPE I didnt and because I did I cant even get it fixed. that was a wasted 70 bucks.
so I refuse to buy from them agian and was wondering what kind of product replacement plans you have or recomend. I take my camera everyplace I go and have 3 boys so its going to take a few knocks. I need a plan to replace it and have no clue what else is out there.
thanks for any input you guys can offer. oh Im also thinking of getting the canon digital rebel so thats big money not to proctect.

we just bought a new camera. But I am definitely not an expert.
However, I would recommend two things that were definitely helpful for us.
First would be to read the reviews.
Second go to a specialty camera store. We went to a Canadian chain store....so they were even able to beat the prices at a big box store, and we got a better lens! This part was actually very enjoyable - even with our two preschool kids along for the trip!!
Hope it goes well for you too!

We bought our daughter a camera at Ritz, a local chain store. We were able to buy a replacement type warranty & it was pretty cheap. We only paid for 1yr after purchase date & never had to use it. The warranty covered the camera to be fully replaced no matter what caused the damage. I guess the best thing is to read over the fine print but I'd also avoid the large chain stores.
I had a problem with C City over a video camera. It wasn't working right after 1 month so we took it back. They said it just needed cleaning. Then 2 days after the full 90 day warranty it started eating tapes & stopped working completely. I went back to store & insisted on speaking with a manager & got a full store credit. Not sure if that would help in your situation or not.
Hope it all works out :)

As said above, go to an actual camera store where the sales people will be able to give you information on all the cameras and help you find one that will fit YOU.
Definitely HOLD the cameras in your hand. You may find that the camera you want doesn't feel right to you. I love Nikon, mainly because I like the heft of the camera. They tend to be heavier than Canon. It's just what feels right to ME.
Good luck in your search. There are so many awesome cameras out now.

I know I want to get the digital rebel by canon. Im a loyal canon user. But I want to find a great replacement plan. I take my camera every place and it does take bumps but common really I dont abuse it.
