Can anyone recommend a book or website that would be the best place to start for someone like me... a techno-idiot. I do have PSE... and can get the standard PS... I have played with photo editing and would like to delve a tad deeper into digi-craft; creating my own embellishments and the like. But I still need the basics.
what do you all suggest?

Well, of course we have the digi blog here on SIS that has tutorials. I have taken a great class by Jessica Sprague and it was phenomenal! She has a great website and has tips, tricks and techniques on there.

we have some tutorials here - Kayla had a webisode on how to make a digital layout.
i also love digital scrapbooking magazine -- lots of layouts and tips
also: http://www.thedigitalscrapbookteacher.com/
Love jessica sprague's tutorials too.
Renee Pearson also has a book on how to make elements....called Digital Designs...

I'd suggest Renee Pearson's Digital Designs book. However, it is really basic- mostly teaching you how to use PSE for digi scrapping. It comes with a CD of different embellishments and pages...but they aren't as "real life" as the digi elements you see here at SIS...

You can check out my blog:
www.scrapbit.com/tutorials
I have videos.
Although created using Photoshop, you can apply the general idea to PSE.
