Hi ladies,
What size pages are you posting here in the gallery?
I ask, because my pages always appear blurry when posted here, but not at other sites. I am sizing as follows: 500x500 at 72dpi then saved for web around 230.
What are your page sizes? And is the result clear or blurry?
Thanks!

You need to start at a higher resolution, then drop it down. If you start at 72 dpi and then put it up to 230 dpi, you're losing resolution.

If you're doing digi, I would start at 12"x12", 300 dpi, then adjust your sizing down to whatever the place you're uploading says to (here it's under 2 mb)
PM me if this is confusing or if you need more help :D

My pages begin at 12x12 300 dpi, but then I resize to save for web at the above size which appears clear on the other sites where I post, but when I post them here they appear blurry.
Does that make sense? lol

See how blurry it looks?
Now look at Div's.
Not blurry.

Oh, I guess you can't tell, the photos are too small, lol. Oh, wait, click on them and you'll see.
Oh well, I guess it isn't important, I just was curious.
Thanks

Hi there! The sizing here is a bit different because the size limit is much higher than other galleries.... You can upload a layout up to 2 MB and 1000 px wide so I think it might be stretching your image? Not too good with explaining the technical side...
But i just uploaded a a layout and it was 600 x 600, 72 dpi, 141 kb. I guess it could be a little clearer but I keep that size so I can upload to other galleries with saving another version.

So maybe if you increase the size of your layout it might look less blurry.
HTH!

Here is the action i use.
http://www.4shared.com/file/30768776/2be94d16/Gall ery_Resize.html
if you snag it, please leave her some lovin'.
Annie Manning (aka Paint The Moon) also has an gallery resize action for sale.
I'm a cheater and don't like to make more work for myself and quite honestly the freebie works great for me. Though i do love Annies creations and have bought her creations, i can't justify purchasing the action as the one i have is working great. Just would rather spend the money on other kits or actions kwim?
Anyway try the action if you like give this girl a shout out.
hth, ani

I post 12 x 12, 8.5 x 11, any size.
I use Picasa2 (URL) to edit and crop mine. It's free and works great for sharpening and auto focusing.

Thanks ladies, it does look like it is being stretched a bit. I guess I'll have to decide if it bugs me enough to save in yet one more size, lol.
I appreciate the links and the feedback! :)

...I start mine at 12 x 12 and 300 dpi, and then size it down and post it here at about 800 x 800 pixels. =)

I do mine at 300 dpi and 2000 and then go into save for web and make sure it is 2 mb or less and resize in there if needed. Hope that helps!

Alissa sorry I didn't see this earlier, I have been having major PC issues.
I always default my Save for Web at 600x600 and try to keep it at 125kbs so I can use that one file to post at various Galleries. Here at SIStv we can upload much larger file sizes (up to 1,000x1,000) but I don't bother and use that one file for uploading all over.

I have noticed some of mine are blurry as well...and others really crisp. I think it depends on the size of your file because even with a really clear layout, some of mine upload kinda blurry.
I always resize the layered psd file first (600x600), then save as a jpg, open the jpg up and save for web at high quality. I save at 300dpi
