When you download your DIGI files and then unzip- do you delete the zip part since you already unzipped and have the file saved? I started to move all my zip files into a "zip" folder but do I really need to save them? Since I am new at all of this, I have only downloaded free DIGI files and have not bought any yet. What are the chances of me losing the file? And if I lost the file aren't the chances of me losing the zip file that it came from be lost too? (meaning computer crashed or other catastrophe)

Also- I have TONS and I mean TONS of "zip" FONT files. Once they are in my Fonts with all the rest of my "true type" files, do I need to save them too? Again, all downloaded free.

As you can see, I am trying to "tidy" up the place because I don't want my computer to be full of "stuff".

Thanks in advance!

I have a backup hard drive for photos and things like this. Because if you computer crashes frequently you can lose your data as well. This way you can get these items back again. Once they are backed up or burned to a disk, I delete them because they do take up alot of space.

I save ALL my zips for back-up in the event of HDD crashes or file corruption.

Once I download a file and extract it I delete the zipped file. I than save the extracted file on my computer and also on an external hard drive so I have a copy of it if I need it. I also burn them to CD's when I have enough to fill up the CD.

I save my zips. But I save them to another hard drive. I have 4 hdds in my computer (yes, I am an uber geek) and one of them stores my zips. That way, if I should lose my files, I just click, unzip and they are all back!

No hassle of downloading again or buying again, I have them all safe and sound. It also helps to keep zips if you ever make a mistake of saving a paper that you might have cropped...you can unzip to get the original back.
