I have quite a few digi layouts saved on my computer, but I don't have a wide-format printer. So I've been wondering, who does everybody like for ordering prints of their layouts? And do you upload the 300 dpi version?

I had the Epson 220 wode format which did stunning prints..just gave it away as I wanted to replace it.

I get all by scrap pages printed at:

www.whcc.com

or

www.ScrapbookPictures.com

Can't go wrong with either...the color and clarity are amazing.....if you try WHCC (White House Custom Colour) they do 10 test prints for you first to calibrate your monitor color with their system - and they offer a huge array of all sorts of printing options for all your professional (and orivate printing needs). The results are AMAZING.

Scrapbook Pictures offers pretty much the standard printing options and also have amazing prints.....I thought I would have loved the matte paper but have become a major fan of the glossy.

HTH........

Thanks ladies. I will try these places and see which I like best. Also, I hadn't thought about the matte vs. glossy finish question, so thanks for that tip, too.

I love whcc.com myself because they have all sorts of paper for the special prints. I usually just print on their regular paper but now and then for gifts I'll do something unique or nicer. Depends really. Whcc prints a lot for professional photographers so the quality is very nice. For less than $4 for 12x12 and shipping included I have been quite happy.

Costco, some of them, does 12x12 too. I have never but I heard many are happy with them.

if you are printing your lo's at home- i have been doing 8 X 8, does it matter if you print them on cardstock or do most people print them on photo paper? i printed the few that i have done on white cardstock with high quality/photo printing. they are okay for being stuck in an album. what does everyone else do?

I make all my layouts at 12 x 12 but then print them at 8 x 8. I actually think they look so nice in that size I haven't bothered getting them printed.

Costco prints a 12x18 poster size and it is supposed to be quite inexpensive. What folks do is create a 12x12 layout. Then they create a new file with a 12x18 canvas size - pull in their layout on top and then include 3 4x6 prints at the bottom. Get it printed and cut it down to size. You get your layout and some prints at the same time.

OR you print your 12x12 layout and include 2 6x6 miniature versions of your layout. Get them all printed - keep the 12x12 for yourself - and have two mini-version to create small albums for the grandparents.

Always upload the 300ppi version, just to make sure it's the exact size you created the layout in. I've gotten prints from shutterfly and have been very happy.

Scrapbook pictures is having a special right now on their 12x12 layouts. I believe the special is only good during the month of February for $2.49. I just got a bunch of layouts back that I ordered and really like how they all turned out. I have never ordered digital layouts before so can't compare to other companies but they are great quality compared to photos I have had printed.

The shipping was really reasonable also. I think it was 2.00 or something like that.

Wish I had checked back on my own thread, because I missed the ScrapbookPictures sale, Mary! But thanks for trying to link me up. I thought I had gotten all of the replies I was going to get.

That Costco deal sounds pretty smart. I wonder if Sam's Club has similar. Costco is too far away from me, but I have a couple of Sam's nearby. Gonna check that out!
