So I sent my digital layouts to scrapbookpictures.com to be printed. It is the most awesome thing ever! I have them real life in my hands now...it feels so real, and I feel so accomplished I even need to get a new scrapbook to hold them all! The only thing wrong is that on one of my pages I missed removing a brush stroke I made, so there is a hint of a star on my daughters lip...no biggy, but just a heads up to all.

I am in total love and fascination with whcc too. I think they're on some quick drugs or something. They're so quick.

Oh and Cath, they have metallic/peral papers...yes, I am screaming when I say "TO DIE FOR".

Go ahead and print 2 B&W of Sofi on that paper...it WILL knock your socks off.

Trust.

When you sign up with whcc, the form kind of makes you feel like you have to be some photographer or the sort to use their service but anybody can open an account. Download their software and uploading your pics are just a few clicks here and there. They'll give you 5 free prints when you open and account, 8x10s. This is so that you can calibrate your puter with their machine. I printed a b/w, sephia, color, and a few others to see what the results were going to be like. When your test prints come back to you, you'll get the sample papers. Oh, as Jayne said, the papers are gorgeous. They're more for those special ones but for special projects/occasions... I think worth it.

You can also print postcards, christmas cards, those coffee table photo books, etc... love them! I swear I don't work for these guys!

Wow, thanks for all that great info, putri - you and Jayne sold me on whcc. By the way, is that an acronym or is that the actual name of the company?
Thanks!!

It's an acronym Jan, White House Custom Colour....you need to register with them and do 10 test prints (for free) before they'll print your stuff...the turn around time is insanely quick and last time I looked you got 2nd Day return delivery for free.

Also, they do just about every single print job y could dream up...they are a professional print house...I am DYING to get a book of some sort put together........

Let me know what you get done with them.....and, don't forget, you gotta try that metallic paper for a killer B&W. ;)

I haven't done metallic b/w. Now I need to try one. I have a family photo that I bought rights to, color but hmm.... metallic b/w might be the way I'm going to print it out. The photographer who shot our photo uses whcc too. Thought that was an interesting coincidence.

I want to do a book too but I want to do it magazine style. I haven't had the time to do it and enough really good photos. Maybe I'll do a small one. I think the minimum is 10 pages double sided so I'll have to do 20 lo.
