This is just beyond scary to me. I can't even imagine - been watching on CNN and I just feel sick thinking about everyone in the path, especially in New Orleans.

We are leaving tomorrow for Houston. This is so freaking scary. Today is the third anniversary of Katrina, and I hadn't planned on commemorating it by packing up for another evacuation. I don't wish this thing on anyone, but once is more than enough!

I'll keep y'all updated.

Bridget

bridget you might want to hold off on going to houston...they are predicting now (although it is still early) that is will hit west LA/TX
i am in biloxi, MS and as of right now i am staying...now if it turns to smack us like Katrina did then yeah i will be heading north....but i won't make that decision until sunday/monday sometime...at the rate it is going they say they don't predict landfall to the coast until wednesday

thanks linda....i appreciate it!!

You can always make your way up further north...like as in Bulldog country. I might be bit selfish with that suggestion tho. :)

We are staying as far as I can see now, but I don't blame anyone who experienced Katrina for leaving. We live in Lafourche Parish, but are in the central part of it, not in the low lying areas. The media is seriously making too many people panic, instead of making an informed decision. Sometimes you just have to trust your gut. B/C I've seen some people leave and stay somewhere and then get hit by a tornado, or be in the path of the hurricane and then I even know someone who left and then got into a head on collision. You just never know.

You would not believe the weather we're getting from this thing in SW FL, and it's still over Cuba. It rained so hard earlier, it flooded the street in 30 minutes.

I'm praying for EVERYONE! I really feel bad for the poor people in the Carribean....first Fay, now Gustav, and Hanna will be hitting them in a few days.

Stay safe, everyone.

HEY GRETA if it comes down to it... they have us just tropical storm conditions here. come on ovah. I think the worst part is going west, louisiana and East Texas all I can see. They are already sayin we sup to get rain today, we may board the east and back side of the house just precaution, but I m thinkin this one isnt gonna be as bad as katrina from what I am seein. FOR US ANYWAY. Prayers goin' with ya!!! That everyone makes good decisions and stays safe.
We are just north of I 65 so we aren't in any evac zones. Crapp G you knows where I live haha! Bring ya scrap stuff girl!
