Shell Gautreaux SISter Elle (1739)	# Posted: 27 Aug 2008 19:59 Okay, so this time of year every year we prepare for these hurricanes that always seem to make landfall near us on the gulf coast and every year we pray that it changes its' course. Now we have Gustav and everyone here is in a panic b/c they like most along the coast are still recovering from Katrina which made landfall 3 days before they predict Gustav to make landfall. The entire state is in a state of emergency and it really sends everyone on edge. You watch The Weather Channel almost 24 hours a day, pack all your belongings, food for 2 weeks, water, neccessities, batteries etc. It gets a little tiresome and sometimes you almost just want to live in a RV and then everything would already be packed and you could just take off. Making your home wherever you drive to. Sorry, just had to get it out before I start packing it up yet again. Hopefully, this will be the one and only time this year.

One person I spoke to is very nervous because of the reports. Another person says he has a friend who is a weather man and he says it will not be as bad as they are making it out to be. I am praying that he is right...... Stay safe. Maria

Shell Gautreaux SISter Elle (1739)	# Posted: 27 Aug 2008 20:10 thanks Maria, I think b/c it is so close to the anniversary date of Katrina, it just really makes people nervous, but I do have to say at least maybe this time, they will be more prepared. I guess better to be safe than sorry.

I have 2 spare bedrooms... you can totally crash here. as long as you don't mind crafty clutter... :)
