Oh gosh. I think the 1st CD I ever got was Tevin Campbell's "I'm Ready" in 1994 (or thereabouts). Before that (and even after), I was all about mix tapes. :)

hmmm...all of my albums are in storage, so I can't share cover art...the first one that I purchased for myself (from a music recyclery shop of course) was one of my Elvis collections. The first CD I ever purchased for my self was The Best of Art of Noise...god I wish I still had that one!!

Mine was a Beatles album that my dad gave me!! The first album I ever purchased myself was a Beatles album! :)

They are both packed away now, so I can't share any cover art, but they are on the original apple label!!

the album (yes, albums not cd!) that i used to love as a kid was the monkey's, man how i loved davie jones!!! i used to have a huge collection of 45's & kept them in a psychadelic record holder. one of my fav songs was "drift away" the original by dobie gray. but, the 1st album i ever bought (in 7th grade) was lynard skynard - and i still love that album.
- how many people out there still refer to cd's as albums?

I must admit, I was completely smitten by Vanilla Ice back in the day, so that was the very first cd I ever bought. It was when cds came in those huge long boxes. I loved me some him!
