Hey gals - this really not scrapbook realted...but I am feeling hurt.
My husband and i play on a sand volleyball league in the summer with a bunch of people. I am not the best player in the world... but it is just for fun. Well tonight was the tournament game and one of the other girl players on the team asked me if I wouldn't mind sitting out during the tournament games!
Of course when she said this my husband was no where to be found. Well - he was in the bathroom. It was one of those moments that I was so shocked I couldn't even think of a reply. So I gave her a quick "whatever"...once my husband came back from the bathroom I told him what happened and I was almost crying. He just grabed my hand and said - "we are leaving".
So how crappy is that! I mean first off all this is just suppose to be a fun game! Who does this girl think she is?
She has been texting my husband telling him how sorry she is. Why isn't she telling me? She also said that another person asked her to come talk to me. Does that make it any better? He told her we are both out for the rest of the season. I said I am out for good. No more volleyball for me - unless there are fun people on the team.
The thing that really makes me mad is that we made time out of our day to come play. We got a babysitter and everything. I could have been scrapbooking.
So I just had to vent. People should not let other people feel like crap. Especially over a stupid rec. league volleyball game.
but I feel like crying. :(

I know those things can be competitive and sometimes people can't let go of that. BUT I would say don't give up that's like saying to her - you're right I shouldn't be playing. I would find another team just to prove her wrong.
Youe husband deserves some extra smooches for being there for you!

i'm so sorry that this happened to you. some people take these things way too seriously. when i was in high school, i used to referee rec. volleyball leagues. once, i had a grown man threaten to beat me up in a parking lot because he messed up and i called him on it.
some people just need to get a life. so glad that your husband stood by you and was totally supportive. and she is lame. who texts apologies?? glad you know you're better than that.

so the girl emailed me.... this is what she said:
Michelle... I am so very very sorry about last night. I just feel so horrible for letting that happen and letting my competitive side take over. I let other people affect my judgment and I never should have asked you if we could continue playing, tournament or not. It is just sand volleyball, but a few of us still get swept up in the game :(
You are one of the sweetest people and I hope you can accept my apology, some time. I truly am very very sorry...
~ Katie
And my response:
If you {and your friends} find it necessary to hurt someone's feelings just so you can win a sand volleyball tournament at the Ickey Nickle - well I feel sorry for you. It is obvious that your goals in life are really low.
I would NEVER treat anyone that way. I know that I am not that great of a player. But wasn't it you that kept saying "its a beer league"
Keep shooting for the stars - perhaps you will win the tournament and become the volleyball queen or something.
get over yourself.
my husband thinks that was a little harsh...but I didn't really like this girl before, and I always just bit my lip. I think people walk on me because I am nice. But you know... sometimes even a nice girl has to stand-up for herself. And I know if I showed up to play next week the same thing would happen.
So there you go... lessoned learned:
Mean people suck Sand volleyball is supopse to be fun Stand up for yourself :)
thanks gals for being there for me!

soooo sorry to hear about your horrible experience!! That awful woman needs to make an apology directly at you!!! And I truly hope you will be able to find some others to play VB with!! It's such a fabulous sport...i'd hate to see your opportunity in enjoying the game siphoned by this inconsiderate woman.
