Hey tehre gals! I'm confused. I'm traveling to Brazil. I am getting my passport. I called the airlines and they said I need a visa.
Is that right? Why?
I was born in the US.

Hi, Suzy!

Each country has different requirments in what you need to enter into a country...some require an application form, some don't (depending on the length of stay).

Yes, you are born in the U.S. which means you carry a US passport. But you need a visa to get "permission" to visit that country. Therefore you need to contact the Brazilian counsult in CA (I'm assuming you still living in the SJ area?) and find out what you need or google search it online (maybe they have an application to fill out?).

Yes Suzy you'll need a brazilian tourist visa.
Try to login at the brazilian embassy in US to get more info about it.
I'm brazilian and I know we don't have an agreement about it with US.
So it's like if I want to go to US I also have to apply for a turist visa too...
Burocracy you know...
