ladymisssusan, i had a hard time with some of the descriptions of sexual acts in running with scissors. it was a bit more than i was prepared for. not that i have anything against homosexuality, but the description was a bit vivid for me. otherwise, it was an awesome book! the family life of the psychiatrists 'family' (can't remember the name) was really fascinating! lol indeedy!

Update 20/40
I read Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen. Honestly, I picked it up because it was on the Express Checkout rack at the library. But, it was a very fun and quick read. Expected ending, but a good one to read outside while watching the kids ride around, and around, and around the cul-de-sac (which also has an expected ending of someone needing a Band-Aid)!

The Heroin Diaries-A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rockstar by Nikki Sixx
This book is very, very, very disturbing and dark. I'm proud of Nikki Sixx being able to just be honest and I wish him all the best. May he stay sober and stay in the moment for himself and for his children.

Hope the kiddie is o.k.!!!

i finished our school. +24/50 a little more technical than i thought it would be, with a lot of political things i didn't quite understand. overall though, i enjoyed it, even though it was a little hard for me to relate to, being from southern missouri, where there are no minorities, and few extremely low-income families, as there were in this book. however, it was inspiring that against so many odds, the school, teachers and students were able to succeed.

ooh, allison, i've read devil is in the details. is it by jennifer traig? yeah. that's the one. i'm about halfway through. i was a bit surprised how much religion has played into the book so far. it makes sense, just not what i was expecting. especially since i put it on my to-read list beacuse it had a pretty cover.

Those of you that read WORLD WITHOUT END....is it better than Pillars or equal?
Just curious...though I'm not ready to read a long one just quite yet.
And THE FINDER by Colin Harrison was good - quick thriller that I couldn't put down. Puts me at....13/24
Now reading Unaccustomed Earth by Jhumpa Lahiri. It's short stories and I'm loving it. Loved The Namesake by her and her other book of short stories!!
