OMG I AM 15/50 I finished Twilight it was so hard to put it down i read it in less that 5 days and have already started on New Moon thank goodness kiddos are out for the summer so i can read !!!
I have to comment on this....I just started it last night, and am 1/2 way through. I could not put it down until I realized it was midnight! I am so glad I caught the series late in its life so I don't have to wait for the next book to release!

THAT said, I'd like to join! Puhlease????? If so, I think a total of 30 books will be a good goal to reach by the end of the year.

:) T

My goal is to read 50 books by the year's end..

I have already read the following..

*John Neff on Investing (a need to read, since I work with Mr. Neff on occasion)
I also work for John (aka Jack) Bogle so it was clear I needed to read his books (and I did)
*The Little Book of Common Sense Investing: The Only Way to Guarantee Your Fair Share of Stock Market Returns
*The Battle for the Soul of Capitalism
*Common Sense on Mutual Funds: New Imperatives for the Intelligent Investor
*Bogle on Mutual Funds: New Perspectives for the Intelligent Investor
* John Bogle on Investing: The First 50 Years
* John Bogle and the Vanguard Experiment: One Man's Quest to Transform the Mutual Fund Industry

& then "to unwind and relax " books that can be read in the bubble bath.

The Name of the Wind - Patrick Rothfuss
Across the Face of the World - Russell Kirkpatrick
In the Earth Abides the Flame - Russell Kirkpatrick
Dragon Champion - E. E. Knight
Dragon Avenger - E. E. Knight..

Don't be scared. It is just as good!! :) I absolutely LOVE her style of writing and the second one did not disappoint!

thanks Julie!!

stacijo - the sequel to Love Walked In is just as good, but different enough that you don't feel bored. it's a maturing of all the characters :)

enjoy!!

Thanks Mel!!

I am now looking forward to reading it!!!!

I finished Twilight it was so hard to put it down i read it in less that 5 days and have already started on New Moon thank goodness kiddos are out for the summer so i can read !!!

In the last 3 weeks I've read all 3 of the Twilight series books. I literally just finished New Moon and I'm sad that I have to wait until August for the next one. I'm weird and get a little to involved with my characters. lol I mourn their loss when the book is over. I MISS them! lol

So that makes my total 7/20 because I forgot to include Wicked in my list so far this year. This thread is really good motivation!

hi rhi, i don't want to set a goal number or i feel like i'm reading just to get to that number, and lost sight of the stories for the stories, you know?

so can i say hey, i've read this # of books?

or do i need to pick a number?

I've read 5 so far this year if I remember correctly. And in the middle of the 6th. And I lost the 7th, though I seem to be 'currently reading' it according to goodreads! lol That would probably explain my missing penguin bookmark. lol

I am actually at 26/40, I just haven't been updating my totals. Being on bedrest has increased my reading. It's so bad I have run through all my backed up books, I've bought 5 more since Sunday.

joce, thats totally fine.
nobody needs to have a number! if y'all just wanna come in here and chat that is coolio. having a number is just in case you want to make a target.

Kara+(30) my lovely. welcome :) i'm happy you are here.

i'll be back tomorrow girls. my bed is calling, i'm so exhausted today.

I just finished A Separate Peace by John Knowles. I noticed for about 75% of the book I would be thinking about what I needed to do that day, what I wanted to pack for SISiversary, what mood my children were in that day...the book was not exactly riveting (for me). I'm glad I read it, but it's not going on my list of favorites:)

that makes me 13/18

19/50
finished the virgin suicides.
i wasn't realy fond of the way it was written. odd.
definatly wasn't what i was expecting.
however, since i finished it in 2 days, it was a pretty interesting read.

I have a three page research paper to write on Darfur.

oh! i am such a nerd, kara. or maybe i just have been out of school long enough to want to learn again, but this actually sounds so interesting. how did the paper go? learn anything that knocked your socks off? how about george clooney? did you include any pictures of george clooney . . . because you know, he is a big advocate. but also quite cute. okay, i totally just dated myself. yes, yes, i had pictures of kirk cameron and nicholas cage on my closets and walls in middle school.
okay, that is plenty of non-sense for now. hope you enjoyed writing the paper.

Thanks!!

HarajukuChic...I have my books listed on goodreads.com. That I've read and what I want to read. I know there are more that I've read this year, but I'm pretty sure if I can't remember reading them, they weren't that good. lol So I went by memory.

I'm jocelynneb on there if you decide to sign up. It's pretty cool to keep track of books that way. And I can see what all my contacts are reading.

a lot of us also post what we are planning to read/have read on here to discuss them too.
it may be a pain in the a, but if you search for past bookworm threads, you will find 100s of suggestions.
