I have a job interview at 2:00 pm, which is in like 35 minutes.
I really hope to get it!!
It's a crisis line operator to a local abused women and children center!
I so want it, because I think that would be a great rewarding job.

Oh, I am excited for you. That sounds like an awesome job. I use to be in the social work field so if you need any advice (I did hiring too) let me know. I can give you a few tips on what they will probably want to hear.
I so hope you get this. I think you would be so good at it!!!

Well, I think the interview went pretty good. Some of the questions I struggled with, but they were stupid like defining questions. And I was trying to answer them, and relate them to that job, so it was a tad hard, but I think I nailed it. Hopefully!
They will let me know by Wednesday night, if I got the second interview or not!
I hope so.

Well, they weren't hard.
I just buckle under pressure and make them hard for myself.
She asked me to define Impowerment, and what it means to me.
Which then I overthink it, and made it stupid and hard.
Or Define Advocate (sp?).
What does that mean to you?
Stuff like that.
I just make myself so nervous, and then over think things, and then I buckle and mess up.
So it wasn't hard, just nerve racking I guess.

Oh those are good questions. Did you know I am going to go back to school to become a Therapist???? I can't wait to go. Gotta wait till my littler guy gets a bit older. I have an undergrad degree in psych so I love that stuff!!!

I can totally understand that....I got asked..."what is your zodiac sign, and do you feel that you embody that sign?" --okay...I am a Gemini....I am fully a Gemini, I am loud, obnoxious, have mult. personalities, so yes, I am a gemini, and embody that....um...wait...probably not the right answer for a job interview...crap!
the other one that gets me..."if you could be a car, what would you be?" --'71 Oldmobile 442 convertible, black with red leather interior...why? because it is curvy and sexy, and rides like the wind....um...yet another answer that probably cost me that job!!

I got asked which of the DSM diagnosis were closest to my personality. And they said you had to pick one! Ok those are things like, bi-polar disorder, personality disorder, depression, anxiety disorder all the psychiatric disorders you can think of. HOw do you turn that into a positive???

She asked me what my weaknesses are, and I said, that I might be Too caring. I want to help everyone, and you just can't.
I don't think she liked that answer too much either. :/

Actually I don't think that is a bad answer at all!!!! I think it is realistic, which you have to be in that kind of a job. You help where you can and you understand the limitations.

yeah, I totally said those things, but this was for a job that I didn't really want, but was basically forced to interview for, so I was cool with whatever outcome...and I totally got along with the supervisor and was joking with her and forgot I was at an interview! LOL
my favorite answer to the question: "why should we hire you?" because I am your best option
okay...this was an answer that I got when I was hiring for my team, and I almost fell outta my chair..."um, how do you know??, do you know the other candidates?" talk about ego!

Holy Cow! It's been a really long time since I had an interview! I don't ever remember a potential employer asking about my sign, what car I want to be, definitions of anything, or what my personality disorder is...LOL!

when i interview w/ the school district, they asked what professionalism was. i was totally thinking in school-specific terms, so i was all about keeping a teacher-student relationship, not buddy-buddy, and stuff like that and totally spaced on the whole, show up on time part. fortunatly, i think the interviewer understood that.
it also didn't help that i interviewed during finals week, for my education classes, so i was all spouting defintions. after i explained that, the interviewer was like, oh- i totally understand.
