Next Sunday Masterpiece Theater (PBS) starts showing adaptations of all six of her novels.
The Complete Jane Austen
Works great for me becasue I would like to read all of her books this year. Anyone going to be watching these?

Oooh. Thanks for the head's up. I'd like to watch at least some of those!! Pride and Prejudice is my favorite book of all time!

P&P is my absolute favorite novel and movie! I love Collin Firth as Mr. Darcy! I don't think anyone can ever play a better Mr. Darcy!

i KNOW! :) I saw that last night as I was watching the 2nd half of Jane Eyre. I actually HAVE read all of Jane Austens works. Wonderful! So I'll be excited to catch this on Sunday p.m.'s when I usually tube out anyway! :)
P.S. The books, as is so often true, are so much better than the movies! ;)

So did anyone else think that the newer Pride & Pred with Keira K. Just really cut out ALOT of details? Maybe it is because I have seen the 6 hour one about 1 million times, but dude. I just cannot make myself watch the newer one again.

HERE! Not sure I get PBS tho, gotta check that out!
LOVE, "Sense and Sensibility" my fav movie ever with Emma and Kate.
And the 6 hour "Pride and Prejudice".
I own both and just love them!
Never been a reader tho, but I love the movies!
Who else thinks Mr Willoughby (Greg Wise) is a hunk? Too bad he had to go messin' around.
And Mr Darcy, meow! lol!!! ;)

It took me a while before I watched the Keira K. version. I liked it but yeah it leaves out to much.
If you really want to see a bad version (not the acting, just the movie itself) of the movie watch the one made in 1940 with Greer Garson and Laurence Olivier. Cut the book to shreds and they are wearing the wrong costumes for the time. Big hoop skirts, really bad.

Just finished reading "Confessions of Jane Austin Addict" cute and funny, a real fast lite read, but I thought it was enjoyable! Thanks for the alert on the shows, will get them all recorded so I can sit back and relax with some wine :-)
