I'm a little confused...usually the next leg of the race begins after a mandatory 12 hour rest period, right? Ok, so they show the teams reaching the pit stop during the afternoon on last week's episode, right? So, if they arrived during the daylight, wouldn't they be leaving when it's dark out?
TK & Rachel started the leg at, like, 1:25 p.m. on tonight's episode. So, I'm guessing that for some reason (like a production issue), the rest period turned into 24 hrs instead of 12 hrs. Otherwise, I think they should have started at 1:25 a.m., not p.m.
WARNING: THE FOLLOWING COULD BE SPOILER INFO... And also, I might have missed it, but I'm puzzled as to how TK & Rachel arrived to Japan 3 hours after the others got there? I thought they were told that their flight got in at 6:30 and the other teams' flight was getting in at 8:30...was there a big delay or what? I just don't know why they didn't make it more clear about why TK/Rach were so behind.

We were all confused watching last night, kept asking each other, "why are they so far behind?" Didn't even notice the beginning part with the start times. Can you imagine driving a taxi in Japan? That was a crazy challenge!

Their flight LEFT at 6:30, but they had two transfers. The other flight LEFT at 8:30, but only had one transfer and made it to Japan three hours sooner. I think that their booking agent must not have understood they wanted to ARRIVE ASAP, not LEAVE ASAP. :)
I think that they do make them rest "at least" 12 hours, but often longer. They sometimes leave times off, I've noticed. A lot of the things they need to do are only available certain hours, and airports in other countries are often not open all night and security could be an issue at night certain places as well. I can't imagine the liability factor in producing a show like this!

i was thinking the same thing...they kept harping on "we have to leave right away!" not we have to get there as soon as possible...
but i was SO happy they didn't get eliminated! i really like them....but from the previews it looks like something happens b/w them & the bicker-ers next time.

Ahh, I see...my little doggies hadn't settled down yet when I started watching the show, so I missed the travel agent miscommunicating that the flight he was booking for them was not the fastest arrival. I just heard "6:30" and I thought that put them ahead of the others who were "8:30"
I get that rest period times may have to be altered for various reasons, but I just wish they'd briefly explain it when it happens. That kind of discrepancy sticks out to bigtime TAR fans :)

At least they're together with them and not way behind. Go hippies!!

I totally agree. I also get irritated when they make it look like two teams are so close they could trip over each other and then when they leave on the next leg, you see that they were really 20 minutes apart. Guess they think we don't pay so much attention to detail!
I am also rooting for the hippies!! They are my faves, for sure.

I know, they are totally nuts. One minute it's, "great job, Baby!" and the next, "I can't stand you!" They make me dizzy!

I think the Dad is the worst. I am amazed at her patience to put up with him and the way he speaks to her. It is shocking. I don't think he'll be getting any offers from publishers to write a parenting book when he gets home. :)

I have TK & Rachel in "The Amazing Race" game here. And I was almost out last night. But....they're gonna have to seriously step it up next week.
And I don't know what happened at the beginning of last night episode 'cause I only got to see the last half. :(
But, seriously, Nate (boy-bickerer) and Jen (girl bickerer)....need their heads dunked. Babies.
write a parenting book when he gets home. :)
But, maybe she could write a "how to deal w/ your bossy/cranky dad" book

I know, the Dad is a grumpus, big time! She was all cheery last night about him not losing his temper. She is a saint as far as I'm concerned. I'd be trying to "accidentally" leave him in Japan.

LOL! He was out of her life all her childhood....hmmm....maybe she should have left it that way.

DId you catch how awesome her Japanese was?? She was talking to the cab drivers and other locals pretty fluently.
I so envy bi-lingual or multi-lingual people.
I want to speak another language....and I don't mean, "Do you do doo doo?" and "Need to potty?" and "no touch" Ha!
