This was kinda like that. If you fall off a chair while reaching for a dang foam paintbrush in your scrabook closet in the middle of the night and no one hears, does it a.)still make a sound and b.)still hurt like a mug?

Uhh, yeah. It made a horrible sound, though I didn't hear it completely as my MP3 player stuck with me. Funny how those ear buds fall out aggravatingly enough, every five minutes on their own, but fall out of a chair from way up high on your tippy toes and they stay in!

As loud as it was, no one came a runnin'. Hubs slept through it. Funny how he wakes to the sound of my paper trimmer, slicing ever so quietly through a piece of paper, but his beloved can fall backwards off a chair, toppling a trash can, on which a cropper hopper and stack of paper were balancing on, making a horrendous noise...and sleep through it. Never did find that flippin' foam paint brush either. Those things always elude me!

So the point to all of that, what kinda injuries have you substained from scrapbooking?

First off, I hope you are ok. Second, OMG, thanks for a giggle this morning!

No major scrappy injuries here yet. Needle in the finger trying to sew on a layout but no blood. Is that still an injury??? LOL! Paper cuts, burns from hot glue gun.....almost sliced my finger off with the Xacto. If I have an injury I am pretty sure it will be because of my Xacto!

Psstt...Dollar Store has huge things of foam brushes!! They are decent too.

LOL! Ohhhh....poor camport. Shouldn't you be getting some sleep since you're sick??! ;-)

I was up 'til all hours last night scrappin', too. EVERYTHING is magnified when it's the middle of the night and there not any other sounds. It sounds like I'm hammering away, when all I'm doing it using my xacto knife on paper.

Oh....so on to your point. I have cut my fingers numerous times...mostly w/ xacto, but pretty much anything that's sharp. I think that's the worst of it, tho. Haven't fallen from any heights. Hope you're not too bruised up.

lol, yeah I'm okay. I had one of those, "that was embarrassing and hurt really bad so I should cry" moments, but no one was around to sympathize so the tears would've been wasted.

I feel a couple bruises, but I'll claim them like battle wounds!

And yes, Xactos are evil!! Oh and I've lost at least one or two finger prints to a Zot{or whatever those things are called}.

Thanks for the tip, I'm off to buy some more foam brushes!!

Shouldn't you be getting some sleep since you're sick??! lol, again!

I felt I deserved 2 cans of Mountain Dew last night, right before bed, because...well, I'm sick. The Nyquil didn't defeat the Mtn Dew til like 2 in the morning.

HAHA!! That is hilarious!

Ive done the same thing, more than a couple of times. If I lean too far ahead in my chair, the wheels sort form a mind of their own and want to go in the opposite direction that I am leaning. Making me do a faceplant either directly onto the floor infront of me, or worse, onto the edge of the desk. You'de think Id learn and just stand up to get whatever I need already!

i scrap mostly on the floor so if i've left something out, chances are my bum has paid the price

Yeouch!!!!! I can't even imagine that one!! I'm so eye-phobic that I have a terrible time even getting an eyelash in my eye!!

as for my injuries, thankfully it's just been the standard paper cut or trimmer finger slice!!

I've done that too. Do not recommend. LOL

And, for the record...I really believe that the tree makes a noise no matter what.

The eye cut thing totally makes me think of that Friends episode where Rachel goes to the eye doctor. Am I the only one that relates everything in life to a Friends episode?

I've been singing Smelly Cat all day in my "sexy voice." Anybody know what I'm talking about?

I think I'll just hush now and laugh at myself quietly while reenacting Friends scenes in my head.

Maybe Britax carseat company needs to get into the scrappy chair market. I'm telling you, my kids car seats look pretty darn comfy!

Try not to faceplant anytime soon! LOL! Or invest in a helmet while scrapping!

RE: Eye scratch - OUCH.........
RE: Chair - OUCH..........
RE: Smelly Cat - LOL

The only "Scrapbooking Casualty" here is my wallet.
It is seriously in pain.
Every time I get near a scrap store my wallet screams: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO............"

As for the falling off a chair.
Yup - I did that once.
I was standing on a folding chair (note - DO NOT STAND ON A FOLDING CHAIR!!!) and I was trying to reach for something on top of my wall unit.
Down I came. One leg on the outside of the now folded chair, one leg caught in the middle of it and MY NECK CAME DOWN RIGHT ON THE BACK OF IT...........
It scared the daylights out of me because my neck really, really hurt and I realized that I could have broken it in two falling like that............

PLEASE DO NOT REACH FOR A FOAMY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!!!!

Maria

Maria that sounds painful! ANd how annoying that your wallet actually screams! I'd be like, "Just shut up and hold my money. That is your job!"

Many strange things happen to me when I get near LSS'..........

Usually when we are driving on the highway and I know we are about to pass the Exit where an LSS is, I start yelling "I GOTTA PEE............"

This usually means gee........ There is a LSS around here....
How convenient that I just know they have a clean bathroom....
Wow.... It would be so rude for me to ask to use their facilities without buying just one little item.........
$50 - $60 later we are back on the road after our bathroom break....

Oh.................
Wait..............

Just 25 more exits until "I GOTTA PEE......................."

LOL

Maria

no worries, it is funny (only because there wasn't any damage) i'm a total clutz - if it is possible to be hospitalized for scrapbook incident that would be me. i've had a number of other bizarre mishaps dating from my childhood...

and i don't relate everything to Friends, I relate everything to the Office - I even brought up some analogy during bible study this week. that went over well. ;)

I relate everything to the Office How is it that Steve Carrelle{how do you spell it?} is so attractive. I can see w/my eyes that he's just not hot, and yet the whole time I was watching Dan In Real Life, I was thinking, "Wow, I would totally marry him{y'know, if I wasn't already married.}."

Completely off subject, I know.

he was cute in that movie, huh? ahhhh....good times :) LOL!

The only scrapping incedent I've done is cut the tippity tip of my finger off with my cutter bees....2ce. Yeah that didn't feel to good.
And...I've accidentally squeezed my boob a time or two with my crop-a-dile....you know...holding it to close and clamping down on the thing. As I'm chomping through chipboard, I realize I'm giving myself a mamogoram. nice.

Not anything too bad scrapping related but I did cut the tip of my finger off with a rotary cutter while cutting my fabric for a quilt. Watch our for those puppies!

well this is sewing...but i think i was making something for an embellishment. but anyway. i was sewing tralalala. and normally i'm very good at watching my hands and everything. but pshhhhhh the needle went right through my thumb nail! i didn't scream or cry until i went downstairs to show my mom. i was perfectly calm until she asked if i was okay...i said i think so. and then i bursted. i had a dent in my thumb for monthssss. haha. it was pretty funny though. i sew all the time and it was only that once that anything went wrong. =]

and ouch. i'm the same way though...if i hurt myself slightly-my mom will run in. or fall down the stairs like i do weekly...ugh. she runs. but if something larger happens and i scream she probably thinks im watching antm [americas next top model] and doesnt bother...until i run down stairs hahaha. i just yell at the TV so i guess thats understandable. =]
