I just read one called "The Wild Girl; The Notebook of Ned Giles 1932" by Jim Fergus. He wrote one of my all time fav books called "1000 White Women". Both books are semi true stories. They use bits of history as the jumping point. SERIOUSLY GOOD BOOKS!

Pillars of the Earth
The Red Tent
Anything Phillipa Gregory
Anything Margaret George
The Art of Happiness

Those are a few of my favs. Water for Elephants is on my wish list right now. Hopefully I will get it soon!

Im reading Teacher Man by Frank McCourt, he wrote 'Tis and Angela's Ashes, and this one is about his experiences teaching in NY, and Im studying to be a teacher, so I thought it was a good buy, lol. It is interesting and I like it. Love reading, was just talking about that with my sis' kids yesterday, I love that they love to read (10 & 12yo) still, and hope that they continue to cherish that-with me around, buying them books all the time, lol, they most certainly will :)

Jackie have you read the book "Learning to Bow"? It is about an American teacher who goes and teaches in Japan. Interesting read. He talks about the drastic differences in educational culture here and there.

Ah, I love that book! Also, his I Know This Much Is True is fantastic, long but wonderful.

Right now I'm reading a total cheap thrills book Mortal Fear by Greg Isles. Fun thriller, hard to put down.

thanks lisaannette for the endorsement -

princess - i loved water for elephants too - such a lovely story, it was on my best of 2007 list

the last book i bought was The God of Animals by Aryn Kyle

the last book I read was Born Standing Up by Steve Martin and before that The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox which I HIGHLY recommend (it's 50% at b&n making it cheaper than a p-back)

whatever you choose to read, i hope it's good!

I'm currently reading Patron Saints, a book about the New Orleans Saints' 2006 dream season. Yes, I am a fanatic! Next on my to-be-read list is the Twilight series. My teenage cousin lent me all three books. I can't wait to read them!

I'm also a member of Goodreads. It's pretty cool because you can see what your friends and others are reading!
