So i'll start the thread(hope that's ok Traci!) Its Jan 2nd. Here's what i've done today- ~only had 2 diet cokes instead of the normal 5 ~Choked down 4 glasses of water ~went snow shoeing across the back field pulling my 4yr old in his sled ~Instead of grabbing for the cookies/crackers, I ate a piece of cheese and a handful of almonds.
Its not much...but its a start.

Well.... Let's see:
I have had a glass of water, and 1 glass of lemonade. I haven't eaten anything yet today, but am waiting on some yummy smelling Ham and beans that have been cooking all day long!
I really want to get one of those balls to sit on while on my computer. I wish they weren't so expensive though. Maybe soon.

I was doing great until dinner. Those cookies just called my name. Darn. Must. throw. them. out.
But, that's it for food for the day (no eating after dinner for me!) and I will now only get water. I will also walk 30 minutes on the treadmill in a little bit (and I already did snow removal from the driveway) and play Hyper Dash with the kids (if you haven't seen this -- look into it, it's genius!).

I've done 95% of the exercising I set out to do for the day. Still could do the other 5%...I hope.
I did have a couple of cookies after lunch! oops.
Haven't had enough water yet.
The evening is still young. It's only 5pm here.
Thanks for having this thread. NEED it! Need to be held accountable.

I am doing pretty well....Got up early this morning and watched GMA on my mini-trampoline....felt good.
Ate dry toast and cheese for lunch...
Just salad at Olive Garden for dinner...and just finished my PT (have 7 herniated discs including 2 bulging discs in my neck...*ouch*) -- so it kind of limits the physical exercise I can do....but am being faithful on my PT so I can avoid surgery.....
Proud of each and everyone of you...for those that have made progress...count it as one day closer to your goal...and for those that had a hard time...you have only missed one day -- put it behind you and know that tomorrow you can have new resolve.
Thanks for asking...I need to have a bit of accountability....
We can do it ladies...

Traci.....get that sweet tooth gone and it stays gone! (Ha! I'm one to preach this.)
But, i know it's true. Once I stay away from sugar for a few days, the craving for it is no longer there. I've done it before. Hmmm....need to do it again. heh!

Sounds like everyone had a good first day.. Congrats Traci!!! not one grain of sugar(YIKES!) This is the worse time of day for me. Night time. I'm laying low, ready for bed, catching a few mins on TV and I want all the junk I can't(shouldn't/chose not to) eat..
UUUUUGGGGGGGGHHHHHH...

Really I am trying to take this slow. One demon at a time. Sugar/white flour are huge ones. I am hungry though. Not just craving but hungry. I at good today. Salad for lunch (not a fattening one either) and a lean piece of meat with veggies for supper. I am hungry!!!!!!!!!!! This is when I feel like I just can't do this. I don't want to live like this forever!
Triple UGH!!!!

Tracinicole, have you tried adding "good" fiber in? Fiber keeps you feeling full MUCH longer. Not sure which plan you're following, but I could NOT do it without high fiber, high protein.

you guys are doing good! way to go tracy! no sugar?!
i only had one can of coke. a step in the right direction. i walked the treadmill for 25 mins at 3.0 miles per hour. i watched the computer while i walked an old home makeover. i think that might be the answer for me. to have the treadmill where i can watch tv or something so i don't get bored.
i still had too much junk though. lots of christmas treats around here still. the kids and dh are begging me not to toss it. i'm gonna try putting it in the fridge and see if that works to keep me out of it. if not it's gone this weekend.

Julie what kind of good fiber do you mean??? Seriously, tell me. I will run and eat it now! I had a few walnuts but that didn't do the trick... :(
I had salad today with loads of veggies. Broccoli and other vegs for dinner. I am trying to stay away from refined/processed carbs and sugar. It is so hard. THe kids wanted graham crackers today and I was practically shaking to keep it out of my mouth. J/K but I really wanted to eat one!
Kit, please keep telling me that. OVer and over and over and over again. I need to do this.

Julie what kind of good fiber do you mean???
Beans baby...and lentils if you like them.
And on a non-fiber note... I've been trying to drink a glass of V8 every day (the low sodium). I know a lot of people think it's nasty...but if you can stomach it - 8oz equals 1 cup of veggies for the day (you're supposed to eat 2.5 cups each day). It's one thing that stuck with me from the days of the Zone diet.

Yes! And I love black beans. I will add them to my salad tomorrow.
V8, ohh I have some too! Dude, I am going to be like an drug addict coming off crack or something for the next few days. This is totally the time I want my fix. SO yeah I am like a fiend right now and ready to give in!

As for me...well, after just finishing a bowl of ice cream :( It had been so long and...Yeah. Well, for dinner it was a nice medley of veggies and small shrimp with some corkscrew pasta. I DID, however, go grocery shopping and got some good stuff. Tilapia filets and chicken, veggies and looked around a bit online for ideas for yummy healthy recipes...found something from Rachael Ray with turkey breast meatloaf, corn and black beans...And I plan on doing even better with eating tomorrow. Only exercise I got was rocking and playing with a 7month old, but its better than nothing. I have filled out the form for a personal trainer from school that starts next week-so I plan on turning that in and going for it. 2008 is hopefully going to be my year for this! Thanks for sharing, ladies!

Not "too" bad today. I haven't thrown the Christmas junkfood out yet (though I did ask dh to hide his own personal stuff) b'cause I got sidetracked on a huge chore. That worked really well until after dinner when I had a piece of chocolate and then went for more. That stuff is getting thrown out TOMORROW! I can live FINE without it - as long as it's not living with me!
Oh, I had an apple today! :)

So not a good day but not a bad one either. Didn't really do anything per se but I didn't really snack.
I had for breakfast - a bowel of cereal, healthy nut and oats or something. We have it at work. I looked at the box of pop tarts but passed them by. I drank a cup of coffee - at work, I didn't go an get my usual giant mocha
At lunch - I ate a bowel of yummy soup - it was this unbelievable beef stroganoff soup so loaded with calories BUT I didn't eat the bread with it. And I bought a cookie but I didn't eat it. Still in my purse. I did have my afternoon mocha though but usually I have 2 a day so down to 1.
At dinner - I had one small meatloaf patty, broccoli and stuffing. BUT I stayed away from seconds and for desert - 2 little Dove ice cream treats. The small ones. And I only had two - I so could have gone for 10.
So yes I ate 3 solid meals today BUT no snacking in between which is my major downfall.

yesterday was both win and fail - i had a 20oz of dew in the morning and 7up later in the day, but i also drank a bunch of water (though not enough). and i ate relatively decently.
of course, the lamictal is making me a bit nauseous and so i don't want to eat at all. which helps. :/ sad.

I was feeling guilty about not getting on the treadmill yesterday . . . but then, at 9:30pm after the kids were asleep, my DH challenged me to a tennis match on the Wii. (Somehow that sounds dirty . . . but we really did just play tennis on the Wii. LOL.) I kicked his tushie, and got a bit of cardio in, in the process!! (Mike fears for his life when we Wii. He's gonna get clocked -- accidentally, of course -- with the remote one of these days!!)
But tonight -- the treadmill, for sure!!
