has anyone here gone off of lamictal? i just decreased my dosage by 25mg and i feel really awful. any advice/experience?

if you have to go off of it, go slowly. very slowly. you probably will feel awful until it's out of your system. sorry you feel bad.

I'm afraid I don't know about it but I just have to + what the girls said : go slowly and stay in contact with your Dr, maybe he can do something to help you deal with this.

i ramped up 25mg per week and i'm going to come off of it the same way. i don't have contact with my psych right now 'cause of the no insurance thing. which is why i have to go off of it in the first place.
i'm just afraid that i will run out before i'm ready. :/

does your state offer a "low cost emergency med clinic " ?
If so I IMPLORE you to call around.. even if its to your docs office to see if they can supply you with enough "samples" or "low cost" meds to cover you while your body adjusts.
My lil sis went thru a horrific time when she lost her ins, and opted to ween herself off her meds.
It ended up costing her more due to an emergency room visit.

I am off it and totally get sick everytime I'm off it for even a day. I'm also too afraid to get off of it. My best advice is to take Dramamin for the nausua. I was off it for a few days and it was NOT a good thing for me emotionally. Sorry that you have to go through all of this.

Elly, there has to be something in Madison to help you. I know there is a free clinic. Have you called there???? Did you call the drug company and let them know? Sometimes they are really good about it.

it's cool - if worse comes to worst i will probably be able to get more refills from my psych. she's awesome like that.
i didn't mean to worry you guys! it's just annoying as far as feeling crappy as i go off of it. :/

Not that we absolutely want you to stay on the med. But if you need help for a consultation while you're off the insurance or anything...
That system is so unfair (and we'll be with you on this in like no time ! )

It doesn't take long for me to feel it when I skip a dose (or two or three). Increasing and decreasing it also makes me very spinny. (hug)
