Rock on ladies!!!
Since July 31st I have lost 25 lbs. I started running on the treadmill and watching what I eat(but not too seriously). I try to keep my calories around 1800 but some days are better than others.
I have slacked off a bit the last two weeks cause I had some teeth pulled and running has made my mouth just pound and ache. Since I haven't been able to run, I have been walking on the treadmill and still doing my floor exercises. I am anxious to get back to my normal routine. I am afraid of losing my momentum.
I want to be able to run a 10K by my birthday (March 25th).
I ran 2 5Ks this fall. Looking at me you wouldn't think I could even run to the mailbox! LOL! I actually caught a woman eyeing me up waiting for a race to start. She saw me looking at her and she turned around. How rude! Everyone is pretty shocked when I tell them.
Needless to say I am pretty proud of myself, but I am not losing the weight like I thought I would.
Way to go! to all of you working on it!
You can do it! to all of you thinking about it!

great thread, sometimes i feel like i am the only one who works out and still gains weight, the reason is quite clear, i eat too much. i know the right things to eat and how much and how much better i feel when i take care of myself, but I am an emotional eater.
frustrating to know how and why and still run the cycle round and round.
thank you all for sharing your weaknesses, it give me, encouragement

Oh I SO need some accountability...I lost 23 pounds the six months before we shot the pilot for the show and I've gained almost all of it back...JJ totally has a beer belly now! I had hoped that stress would cause me not to eat like some people, but sadly it has the opposite effect...Now the jeans I almost gave away because they were falling off of me at my lowest weight are my favorite jeans again...<sigh> I'm determined with the new year to lose it all again...
OK, but the only GOOD thing about gaining the weight back is the fact that it filled out my turkey gaggle a bit...so I have to choose, chunkier WITHOUT turkey gaggle or skinny WITH the turkey gaggle? God made scarves and turtlenecks for a reason...I'm pickin' skinny!

Yeah, starting the New Year I was gonna try to get a weight loss group going here on SIS. I need support so bad. I really need to lose this weight because it is making me feel terrible about myself and I shouldn't feel so bad!

Anissa.
I think most of us can relate to being a few pounds overweight.
By a few I mean anywhere from 5 to 50 to even a lot more.
The number doesn't matter - It's just the fact that we know we need to lose it....
I look at you and yes, my first impression is - Wow - She looks great.
Most people only see that part - Either the person we're looking at looks great or she/he does not.
We dont really think about the fact that they may have had to go through a lot to get that way and then maintain that weight.
My best friend has a wonderful shape. If I did not know that she is so dedicated to excercise I would just assume that she was just born that way. But in reality when we go out to lunch I eat twice as much as she does and I never excercise so how can I be jealous of her shape when I am not willing to do anything about improving myself.........
You say you had GP.... Sure. Some people may just say that this was the "easy way out" but in reality no surgery is "easy".
Plus like you said - Just having the surgery is not enough. You are excercising, eating right and following up with your commitment to being healthy.
I am so glad you started this post.
We all need a little (or a lot) of motivation.
It would definitely be nice to have place here for motivating each other to get healthy, get fit, and get gorgeous.....
