Elly... I wish I had a single guy friend to send your way... but alas... I think I took the last single nerd this side of the Mississippi.

But trust that I am on the lookout.

have you thought about taking a class or something... or trying a meetup.com group? There are lots of artsy meetup groups... and your area is so diverse and artsy!

i've not tried meetup.com - i will look at it!

though putting in scrapbooking as an interest isn't going to get a lot of guys, is it? ;)

there has to be a friend of a friend somewhere that is a super cute nerd boy. ;)

I have a nerd boy (likes Dungeons and Dragons and Sci-fi), but he lives in Detroit (he's my hubby's friend). We were just talking about him last night and how he makes my heart melt like butter, he's just so sweet. But my husband and I both agreed that if he had a little more self-confidence, women would be more attracted to him. So if you're ever visiting the Detroit area, we'll hook it up fo' sho'

I'm sorry pumpkin that dating is not working out for you. Boys can be so dumb, but they are good for something;)

aw that sucks, hehe i love reading along to your little quest for love updates.

ya know, you should totally just come for a holiday to australia and meet a nice aussie boy there are so many single guys in australia needing to find lovers :D hehe. they even had a show about like the farm guys who just have no girls out there.
i guess the male to female ratio here is wacked out? lol

Hey elly...

I was single for 46 years...and that is not said to discourage you -- but really to say that I am totally understanding of the ups and downs of the whole process....some days the guys just are poopy...and some days they seem wonderful...I discovered (through years of experience) that to try to be as lighthearted about the process as possible...no expectations -- but LOTS of evaluation...not so much "how do I measure up to HIS expecations?" -- but rather "how well does he measure up to MINE?" I found that I was disappointed lots less often. And of course...I know it is easy to say these things on this end (I am engaged after all these years of being alone) -- but honestly...the love of my life found me when I was least expecting it -- and all the evaluation stuff was almost immaterial...we just fit...and we knew it.

Wish I could give you a hug!

Re: meetup... try an ATC group... or art group. or a bloggers group! I see a lot of cute sounding boys in the ATC groups.

Yeah good luck Elly. I know it sucks "not looking" but really, if you just concentrate on good ol you and what you like to do, im sure you will come into contact with interesting peeps, and you may find out something new about yourself! Think of trying out new places and just be you-making the best of any free time you may have. one day a sweet nerd will come your way...and, perhaps even if he "isnt interested in dating right now" you may meet some of his even nerdier or cuter friends! lol, good luck!

Once upon a time there was a MILF.
Well not so much a MILF in her own eyes. cause she claimed to have Chunky thighs and a bountiful bum..
but in the eyes of those who knew her.. she was a Hottie Super-Lottie

NE way.
she was married for a long time
and after she got divorced
she thought her shot at tru Luv was over

She glumly assumed she was destined to only keep the company of cats and friends who suffered frequently with bad hair days .

She went online
dropped her line in the dating pool
she found some guppies
3 to be exact.
they all sucked at life for various reasons

again. she felt she was destined to toast herself on Xmas

then Ka-BAM
she was in a grocery store
not paying attention
and she ran over someone's foot

EEBY JEEBY did she feel like a dipskit
but he laughed
and said she could make it up to him and help him find a ripe melon
During their melon finding mission they chatted... laughed and ultimately exhanged numbers

a year and half later my mom is still with Kevin.
and though we think he is a bit of a tart.
she is happy and that is all that matters

so..
the lesson to be learned here is
Love will steer your cart
