Sounds like you need help from a MacTechie.

I'm a PC user...and kind of a dense one at that.

Hope you figure it out. Electronical problems make me woozy.

Yeah, call Mac. They are very customer service oriented (not like that PC mafia;)

That totally stinks. You get all excited about winning a cool prize, and then it malfunctions. Hope you get it straightened out!

Yeah, call Mac

see...that's the thing...we don't have the apple support care thing (since we just won it)...if we want to use the phone support, we have to pay for it...

altho i'm thinking that may be the way to go here..

me + electronic devices = ratsafratsa

Are you saying the nano is locked on the screen?

Mine does this a lot after I've had it plugged into the computer. You just need to turn it off and then turn it back on.

Hold down the menu button and the center circle at the same time until it turns itself off and then it should come back on.

maybe the person who originally bought it could give you the receipt and you could take it back for a new one?

sara...if you only knew how many times i've tried to reset this sucker...
"toggle hold switch on/off....then hold down menu & center for 10 seconds until the apple comes on"...i've watched & done the troubleshooting video like 5 times...lol

my problem is that it is stuck on the apple...keeps going off & on add infinity...UGH!!!

maybe the person who originally bought it could give you the receipt and you could take it back for a new one?

see...the thing is mike won it in a raffle at work...which is hilarious b/c we NEVER WIN ANYTHING!!! LOL....

i probably go to the apple store tomorrow & ask one of the mac geeks...so annoying tho ya know?

I'm not an ipod person at all . . . but I tried googling the problem for you. LOL

Try this: press the Menu button and the select button (reset) together for some time and see if it resets!

I cannot, obviously, vouch for this as a solution . . . but in light of the fact you now possess a lovely paperweight rather than a music player, it might be worth a try!

Hmm...works for me everytime and I don't even mess with the toggle switch. If that didn't work then I'm thinking the apple store is your best bet.

Mine did that when I first got it and I couldn't reset it at all. I ended up having to prove the warrenty was good on it and send it back to Apple. They ended up sending me a new one to replace it.

Did you try to reset it by toggling the hold switch and then pressing the top two buttons together?? I am a pro at the reset between my old ipod and the new one...

I got a brand new ipod a month ago and it had to be reset a couple of times and then went to the apple screen all the time. I took it back and they gave me a brand new one. (To the apple store...)

As for the warranty...there should automatically be a year warranty on it even if you didn't buy an extended one...
