my vegetarian husband thought it would be "kitschy" and "fun"... his words, not mine... to make homemade dog treats for a co-worker who requested "diabetic dog treats" in the grab-bag at work.
The recipe is basically 1.5 lbs of beef liver and eggs (plus their shells)... all ground up in the food processor and then spread out on a cookie sheet and baked.
this smell better clear before christmas!

who has time to do a christmas journal!! I wish! :)
Seriously... I can't even go upstairs without gaging. And I agree... why the heck is he making these! For years he demanded we have one vegetarian frying pan for him... I guess the good news is he is loosening up.
If this dog doesn't eat this stuff I will be so ticked. We are going to try them out on my cat in a few minutes. I will check back with an update.

just came back to this post and re-read your original entry.
a co-worker who requested "diabetic dog treats" in the grab-bag at work.
what happens when someone other than this co-worker picks these nasties out of the grab bag? Talk about a white elephant gift!
Liver and egg biscuits all around on Christmas morning! :\

no worries... it's not that kind of grab bag! lol! he knows who will get the gift.

My husband doesn't know how lucky he is... I make him a vegetarian dinner every night.... and 90% of the time my son and I eat it too. I can't wait till my son gets older and eats more so I have a reason to make beef.
and for the record... the cat was NOT interested.
I am off to light a dozen scented candles.

Sorry to laugh at your scented pain but this is too much!
I cannot believe that a vegetarian would be dealing with beef liver. Talk about gross!!!

I can't believe it... and I lived it.
I am going to try to sneak a picture before he packs them up. They are cooling in my garage right now.
it seriously smells like death in my house. I hope he stinks up his whole office and they mock him at work for months. :)
I am so bad.

This is toooooo funny! Yuck! Those "fresh air" candles from Illuminations really work-my MIL uses them in cigarette smoke scented hotel rooms (she travels alot)--otherwise, I'd open all the windows, turn on the fans and hand hubby a sweater!

Oh cr*p, I had never thought about that ! Now you've got me thinking. I might do just the same....
Well, looking at it from the bright side (that is, a part of your house that is not smelling of liver !), he IS very generous. I wouldn't touch meat with a stick, even to save my life !
