I'm going to watch Waitress and Superbad this weekend, so I'll let you know about those.
As for the other movies, I've seen Mona Lisa Smile and liked it. But you can't really go wrong with Julia Roberts, Julia Stiles, and Maggie Gyllenhaal all in one movie. Notice how I left out Kirsten Dunst...
And My Life Without Me is pretty depressing. It's just... heavy.

Mona Lisa Smile saw this while I was pregnant. I liked it, but it's hard to go wrong with anything Julia Roberts.

I have seen the first Hairspray, but I'd like to see the new one. I think I'd like it better. I heard that August Rush is excellent and would love to see it but probably won't until it's on DVD. We mostly rent. I thought Knocked Up was pretty good and In America was touching.
At home right now we have Oceans Thirteen, The third Pirates movie, Hot Fuzz, Reign Over Me, and Amazing Grace to watch. It's cold and snowy out, so why not? Heh.
Thanks for all the comments. Keep 'em coming! :-)

Mona Lisa Smile was a really good movie - I watched it a long time ago.

Have you seen Marie Antionette with Kirsten Dunst??? Girl, sounds like we share the same kind of taste in movies. I really liked that one. But, I love history. Did you see Elizabeth??? Clive Owens, who normally does nothing for me, was HOT in that movie!

Reign Over Me Yeah, my husband and I saw that at the theater one of the very few times we got away from the kids in the last two years. It was so good but really a heavy emotional movie. I *adore* Adam Sandler.

I have not seen Elizabeth but LOVE clive owens so I will be putting that on my short list! He was in Closer (another great movie) and I think that I actually fell in love a little bit ;)
I love to watch a movie/read a book where I feel like I learned a little something about a different culture or time period.

from your list i've seen
Superbad - love it!! definitely not as good as knocked up or 40 year old virgin though...but still a good laugh
Hairspray - eh...kinda didn't like it as much as i had hoped. it's a good renter if there's nothing else..or if you're into musicals/cheesy humor
Mona Lisa Smile - LOVED it! such a chick flick. but gives you a good feeling after watching it
Miss Potter - so cute! loved this story
and i totally recommend, if you haven't seen it already, THE HOLIDAY! omg it will make you bawl like a baby!!! seriously it's my favorite movie right now.
also, Amelie, a lot like love and love actually are some more "feel good" movies.
hope that helps. i love movies, so if you have another list for recommendations, i'll be happy to help!
