heck ya!
And I do want that recipe for the York Peppermint Brownies. Three sticks of butter--holy moly!

Give the people what they want:

York Brownies

3 sticks melted butter (or marg)
3 c. sugar
1 T. vanilla
5 eggs
2 c. flour
1 c. Hershey's cocoa (unsweetened)
1 t. baking powder
1 t. salt
24 mini York peppermint patties

Preheat oven to 350 (325 for glass). Grease 9x13 pan (grease it well this one's a sticker). Stir butter, sugar and vanilla in a large bowl. Blend in eggs. Stir in the rest of the dry ingredients.

Spread 1/2 of the batter into prepared pan. Arrange patties in a single layer about 1/2" apart (4 x 6). Spread remaining batter over patties. Bake 50-55 minutes or until brownies pull away from the sides of pan. Cool completely before cutting.

omg those sound so gooey my mom would loveem!

my granny use to make us choclate roll out cookies with homade frosting will have to find that and share omg they are so good so worth all the work you wanna make a bunch of batches all at once then i press the dough into washed pringles cans lined with plastic wrap chill over night and then pull out of can and slice and bake much easier than rolling out also works with almost any cookie that doesn't have nuts or chunky stuff also freezes well in the cans dropped into big plastic baggies

Thanks for posting the York Brownie recipe. Sounds sooooo good!

The Pringle can idea is brilliant. I've done something similar before with old cardboard tube from paper toweling or large-sized aluminum foil packages. That is great for small cookies. But for larger diameter, the Pringle can idea sounds great.

I have made six different cookies/bars. I'm kinda sugared out and burned out so I'm taking a baking break for a couple days. Jan...don't know how you keep it up.

I was in a cookie exchange and made my second batch of molasses cookies...doubled....8-10 dozen, followed by my cut-outs. They did me in.

But after a breather I will be back in full force!!!

Jan...don't know how you keep it up.

You guys, I haven't made all of these cookies this year! So far I've done sugar cookies twice, oatmeal cherry cookies, and toffee chip bars. Now when I get all the shopping done and gifts wrapped, I plan to make more of our favorites and try a few of y'all's recipes. (btw, I hope it's okay if I say "y'all" now and then, even though I'm a Yankee. It's such a cute, useful phrase.)

CHOCOLATE COVERED CHERRY COOKIES

INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup butter
1 egg
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 (10 ounce) jar maraschino cherries

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
Beat butter and sugar. Add egg and vanilla and beat well. Add dry ingredients and stir until smooth.
Roll into 1-inch balls about the size of a walnut (larger if desired). Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Drain cherries and reserve juice. Press center of each ball with thumb. Place a cherry in indentation.
In a saucepan, heat condensed milk and chocolate chips until chips are melted. Stir in 4 teaspoons of cherry juice. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of mixture over each cherry and spread to cover cherry. (More cherry juice may be added to keep frosting of spreading consistency.)
Bake for 10 minutes.

omg yummm! these are so good, and pretty easy.
