and decided to just pay the $60 for some Morning Sickness relief. They say ok and I say YAY! So I stop at the pharmacy and my insurance will NOT cover it, which I knew that, but instead of being $60 it is $100 for 4, yes I said 4 pills. WHAT!?! I think to myself that even though I have more money than I can shake a stick at (in my dreams) I still can't afford that. So I call my Dr. office back and tell them what happened. I asked instead for the phenagrin (spelling?). I know that it makes you sleepy, but iif the relief carries over the next day, I will take what I can get. Do you want to know what the lady who answered the phone had the nerve to say? I know you do...

Phone Lady"Well, I am sorry Miss, and I hate to even say it, but this is what happens when you are pregnant and sometimes you just have to deal with it."

Dramatic pause please, because I was trying to coontrol myself....

Me"yes, well I am quite aware of this as this is my SECOND pregnancy, but this is not what happened with my first pregnancy. I cannot keep any breakfast, lunch or dinner down. I have to go home in the middle of the day from work just to lay down because all of the puking I am doing is wearing me out. Fluids? Can't keep those down either. I am not a sissy, but I do know when my body has reached it's limit, and it has now. I need something!"

So she puts me on hold for a few minutes and bam....they call in the phenagrin.

That just (pardon my french please) pissed me off.

Krissie, OMG, I have heard rude things said to people via doc offices, but that is on the top five list of bad! Holy moly, you need to tell your doctor about that AND the manager of the person supervising that person. COMPLETELY uncalled for an not even close to professional.

Have you tried ginger pills??? I really wish I had some wonder medicine to make it better!

If you ever wanna hear another story of terrible doc office staff, I got one for ya!

Are you kidding me?! That is so rude. I would have been shaking mad at that point.

I'm so sorry you're feeling so horrible. I wish I knew some magic to help you out!

I think she was out of line. If you had already been prescribed the pills (just a different type) which it would have stated in the file that she was looking at, she would know that you were very sick and the doctor had prescribed them. They only prescribe them because you are not keeping any liquids down.

As for the insurance company, yeah they are such pains about it. You actually have to get them on the phone over and over again and eventually they will start to pay. It's the say no and see if they go away that insurance companies do. This happened to my friend, after her 2nd hospital stay to put her on an IV because she wasn't keeping liquids down the insurance company decided that it was probably better to pay for the medicine than the cost of a 2 day hospital stay over and over again.

So take care of yourself and I hope it turns around.

Seriously, there is no call for that. I have a friend who was in the same boat as you are, and the doctor was VERY concerned for her because she was not keeping anything down, which any fool can see is not safe or comfortable for baby or Mom.

I might even say something to my doctor about her attitude...I mean, does the receptionist have a medical degree coming in the mail soon? That's the kind of thing that makes it hard for people to call their doctor's office when they really need to.

Keep the faith sister:) and just know, that while you are miserable right now, it's all worth it in the end.

I.cannot.believe.she.said.that.to.you. I would have pooped a chicken and lost it on her butt if someone said that to me. I was not the nicest or patient pregnant lady. Wow.

Hope you start feeling better. Morning sickness was something a man came up with....because it sure doesn't just happen in the morning!
