because i freakin' needed it to get to work this morning.
after a ton of snow yesterday and saturday the rain came late afternoon yesterday and brought a torrential downpour. now there is serious flooding everywhere. i mean everywhere!
it is horrible.
people's houses are being flooded and needing swift water rescue.
seriously...
it's bad!

Holy cow!! That is crazy!! I hope it get's better, because flooding is very devestating to people's things!!
*side note:* When I first saw this thread, I though... Umm.... does she really think someone is going to let her barrow a boat, plus, how is she going to get it! lol
I thought it was funny.

i'm good.
i'm at work right now.
my house isn't in the drainage line for anything, so we'll be fine.
i feel super bad for some of the houses along the canal area.
hood canal is on my way to work and the whole road was pretty much flooded. they are beautiful homes too. like million dollar homes... mainly summer homes too.... just amazing to see what a ho-latta-watta will do...
8-10 more inches are forecasted plus severe winds...
not pretty....
maybe i get to go home early??? that would be nice. hee hee hee
does she really think someone is going to let her barrow a boat, plus, how is she going to get it! lol

Oh, Pamela. That sucks. I'm worried about ALL of my WA State friends! :(
I was moping today because we had a water pipe break in our basement last night . . . which was NOTHING compared to what you guys are dealing with out there.

Yeah, it is insane. We have one section by our house that we have to watch and I am watching it like a hawk. It is getting too high for my taste. I have to head out today and check the drainage pipe, possibly go hunting for rain barrels, etc, etc.
We have done everything in our power to keep this area good but when it rains this much, the water table just gets so high there isn't a whole lot you can do.
Grr Rain!
Glad your house is ok and I hope it stops soon although it sounds like it is going on till Wednesday. Mope

ahh man i know what you guys mean. I luckily live on a hill, but seriosly there is a river flowing down the road. So bad.
My parents yard is flooding, hasn't hit the house yet, and never has when we've had bad rain, but not sure about this time. Might hit it.

just amazing to see what a ho-latta-watta will do...
my classroom is on the second floor of the building and i swear the roof is going to come off...
I didn't realize it was so bad, because I got back up to where i live real quick after it started snowing on the west side of the sound (sorry sister!)....

I LOVE THIS PLACE.... not the rain here though...

they have actually brought in coast guard helicopters to evacuate now.
i'm telling you guys, this is really bad!
the main road to one side of the canal is gone. as in the bridge washed away....
what the heck....

Wow, crazy
So my basement is starting to flood. In two places this year. Just great. And while I am outside trying to stem the tide - my 2 year old proceeds to climb up and retrieve the face paints and he decorated the computer screen.
I think I may cry soon.

Tallynt - I'm sorry - Please forgive me for grinning...........
When I read the subject of this post I thought someone had the same thing happen to them as I did this morning...........
A stupid pipe burst and I have water all over my basement.........
Thank God it was not a major pipe - Just one that goes to an outside faucet (Which my boyfriend forgot to turn off for the winter....)
Luckily we caught it before we had 10 feet of water.... YIKES...
Well, I hope everyone stays safe - Those winds are definitely blowing strong around here and I'm thinking it's going to be a loooooooooong cooooooooold winter...........

Man it is getting pretty bad here, all roads are being closed all over. I live in Bremerton which is close to Silverdale. I have never seen rain like this in this area. I mean we get rain, but never like this.
I hope all you girls in WA are doing ok.

Nope - the two spots that we had issues with last year are still causing issues even after everything we did about it. Thankfully, it looks like I managed to get it to stop so the dehumidifier is a going. The worst though is we found 2 new leaks - god only knows from where.
I am just getting so sick of it.

i WAS able to get home.
i had to go a different way though.
the regular way was still blocked with water over the roadway and a land slide...
i was suppose to make my way to silverdale tonight, but because the main highway was flooded, didn't do that either...
you gals are seriously the best...
thanks for thinking of me and the rest of the people who have had a rough time today.
