momof3crazies Model SISter (2637)	# Posted: 27 Nov 2007 23:03 I deserve the big ole dork stamp of the day.... I got my bil to get me a great great deal on a dvd player and burner for the puter!!! Delivered here in two days I was sooooo excited when I saw it!! So about 7pm I sit down at puter and go to exchange this one for that...easy peasy...that is what bil says....just need a phillips screwdriver and VOILA you are finished.... GRRRRRRRRRR!! That's what I get for thinkin I can go all tecchie.....I did not get it lickety split.....nope....not me.....2 1/2 hours later, a LOT of curse words, a MILLION restarts.... but now I got it in and I got my computer to actually TURN ON!!! LOL! I know...sounds wierd and I have no idea what happened but the dang thing would sound like it wanted to start then it would give off this warning whistle like SHUT ME OFF NOW BEFORE I EXPLODE.... Now do I dare try to see if it works?? Should I put a dvd in it?? I am a skeeeeeeeeeered cuz it took me soo long just to get the puter back on and stay on....

It is all shiny new and I must've knocked something loose inside but now it is all good...just a lil skeeeered to try that dvd player...LOL!! I would certainly go thru withdrawls if I had to be without my mb fix and that is what was FREAKIN ME OUT!
Korbyn Vogue SISter (3299)	# Posted: 28 Nov 2007 11:13 when a computer isn't grounded, it can actually cause a crash, but what yours sounds like is that the actual piece wasn't connected correctly (or just not tight enough). this happened with a computer that I built, it lasted for 4 years, then one day...Poof! sounds like a motor boat trying to start, beeps at me and shuts down!! URGH! Not to mention that it would shut down at the most inopportune times (such as right in the middle of my Luxor game!). thank goodness I finally got my laptop! If it is working great now then it have just been a screw loose! :)
