kelz Fashion Plate (321)	# Posted: 20 Nov 2007 20:09 - Edited by: kelz Hey there - here's my Facebook dilemma... My nosy aunt has decided to make a Facebook account, and she's gone and found me... Now, not that there's anything wrong with that, but now she'll know about my blog, all my pix, and all my friends. Auntie has a memory like an elephant, and for some reason I just don't wanting her knowing everything... I know there are privacy settings but she is a darn smart cookie and will figure out pretty fast if I block out some stuff. Is there anyway to get around "sharing" every aspect of my life?? (or am I just being nuts...) Edited: I haven't "accepted" her yet...she's still awaiting my confirmation...
scrapamela Vogue SISter (3165)	# Posted: 20 Nov 2007 20:23 not to be rude or anything... but don't accept her. if she wants to know about your life, why doesn't she call like most aunts? i'll tell you right now, none of my aunts would be trying to get on the computer to locate me and my business... but that's my family... just my opinion though. it's not like it's an actual blogger account right...? you DON'T have to share everything with her... for what its worth... ~pamela

I do know how you feel though.. sometimes I just have to be freaking careful about what I write in cyberspace... gets tiring too! Btw.. when you 'accept' her request, you can click on the little box to say she can only view your limited profile. That might help?? And there's no way for her to get around it unless she hacks into your account to change that I think.
nanbhack SISter Elle (1507)	# Posted: 20 Nov 2007 22:27 as an aunt on facebook... i get annoyed that they won't let me join - but the ones that do only show me their limited account - so I don't see ALL of it. For me due to the age difference I am like their older sister more than an "aunt" - also they like seeing funny stuff like my dog. but I do agree - if you don't want to accept her - NO WORRIES. Don't accept her.
gloria Fashion Plate (303)	# Posted: 20 Nov 2007 22:49 i wouldn't add her. tell her it's nothing personal, but you like that you have a place to be "anonymous". i let my family in on my first blog a long time ago and wish i hadn't because i've had to ditch the old one & start a new one just to keep a little sanity!! i like to keep my internet friends separate from my irl contacts, kwim??

And although I really like and love her...It's like inviting her to go out and party with me and my girlfriends... I do know how you feel though.. sometimes I just have to be freaking careful about what I write in cyberspace... gets tiring too! I agree on that!
