Okay...I am big on stuffing stockings, so I do the dollar store "junk" and the candy aisle, and then I hit up little travel games, and targets $1 section! the stockings were so stuffed last year that we actually had to cut into it!! This did not make me happy since it was a beautiful $14 stocking, but hey, had to get the $3 worth of junk out of it right?!? :)

Okay, I get them for everyone! LOL I get smaller ones for the people at work and then I just add little trinkets that are specific to the person, and then the candy and go! This way even though I only have one person at home to stuff a stocking for (although I do put some stuff in my own), I have others that I can give some Lub to!! :)

stockings always seem to be the most expensive part. : ( there is so much really fun little stuff, haha. my mom usually stuffs up to the "heel" part of my stocking with minis of whatever candy i'm into at the time then the rest is usually;
mac eye shadow gas card small scrapbook embellishments playing cards bath stuff (razor re-fills, toothbrush, perfume) adhesive re-fills fun earrings and lots of other fun stuff i can't seem to think of right now.
we usually stuff our stocking to the point of overflow.
the dollar spot is an excellent place for stuff, also the checkout line at target and the kitcheny kind of section in wal mart for things like chip clips and such.

oooh I love this thread... I have 4 boys (ages 13,11,9,2) , plus a hubby, to fill stocking for and they are so hard to fill. Seems like I never find good stuff for boys.
Growing (with 5 girls in the family) up we had an aunt that sent boxes of little stuff for us, so we grew up with overflowing stockings, I think that why they are so fun for me.

if you have a world market in your area, go there!! i just discovered this store, and you can bet those stockings will be filled with all sorts of things my kiddos have been missing since we don't live overseas anymore.
target has some good stuff. my kids like artsy stuff, so there's always room for crayons. and magazines- and movie tickets.

stockings are my very favorite part!!!
my mom does the very best stocking stuffing ever!! and every year she threatens that it's the last and i pout and whine until she gives in :)
i do stockings for jeff, my niece and nephew, and the 16 yr step-son for the big boys i buy alot of the mini cologne samplers, body washes/sprays, man lotions etc..... the hubs always gets a yearly suppply of bath and body works boy soap (i can't remember the name but it's green and he loves it) everybody gets some silly things from the $1 spot at taget/deals/ and walmart little tubs of play-doh, silly putty, etc...for the kids candy, bubble bath, nail files, lotion, snack crackers, fruit, all kinds of random stuffs end up in my stockings!! and there are also gag gifts....last year me, mom, and the hubs all 3 bought eachother those fake teeth that are all crooked and gross....funny pictures!!!!!!
the worst was the year my mom gave us the ink pens that shock you when you "click" them.....i totally busted out with a real loud "S.O.B." when i "clicked" mine (right in front of g'ma :o)

For my big boy (13 year old) I am getting: - some under armor socks (he seems to think they give his feet magical qualities or something), - a novel (b/c I'm that kind of mom) some new "fancy" mechanical pencils, - bath and body works lotion (he's a bit of a diva), -maybe a cd or gift card for his ipod -and other just little doo-dads.
For my littles (3 years): we walked around a toy store that has cooler stuff than the usual toy store and they flipped for about a million different things, that I'm going back to get as soon as they undo the chains here at home:) I remember specifically:
-small bat shaped ugly doll -plastic insects (I'm so glad I'm not a boy) -books
I did notice at target back in the Christmas stuff they have some cool (cheaper) little toys and candies and things designed especially for this purpose.

I still love stockings!!! That's all my DH and I are doing for each other this year! I have to cut back this year, I'm known to spend WAY to much on stockings!!
So far for my little Princess she has:
2 Books 3 Disney Princess Babies 3 Disney Princess Cars 1 Minnie Mouse Car Jewelry Disney Princess Cup The Jungle Book Movie Socks Mittens and Hat Toothbrush and tooth paste (she loves to brush her teeth!)
I actually don't have a thing for DH stocking, I'm sure he'll get a couple CDs and Movies, but honestly, I don't know what else!!

I didn't get fruit in my stocking, but my mom said she always got an orange and peanuts...and she was really excited about it, so there you have it, it wasn't just you, my dorky mom got it too.

My mom always fills those long knit stockings that strech for miles........she puts an apple and an orange in the bottom to make them STReTCH to the fullest capacity. We then get
socks, bath stuff, a few candies, feet deodorizer, (boys) travel games, and of course all kinds of other good stuff!
I love stockings! And they are the major reason I miss going home for the holidays.
Stockings and my dad's side always gets together on the 22nd.......that's usually the once a year occassion. That's what I really miss!
