i love the holidays!
-- gingerbread lattes
-- peppermint everything
-- shopping!
-- christmas music
-- honeybaked ham
-- baking!
-- turkey, mmm, tryptophan. heh.
-- wrapping!
-- snow! (oh wait, i live in arizona. nevermind. but i WOULD like it.)
-- jeans and sweaters (again, not so much here but still...the thought is nice)
-- watching white christmas while we decorate our tree
i'm sure we've done this before but what are some of your fave things about the holiday season?

I'm with ya on the gingerbread latte...if only it wasn't still 80 degrees here in Phoenix!
I also love:
-eggnog lattes
-giving gifts...seriously I live for gift giving!
-wrapping paper and trims
-baking holiday treats
-red and green everywhere...my 2 favorite colors!
-decorating and crafting holiday stuff
-christmas music
-time off work to hang out with friends and family

yummmmmm......gingerbread lattes.....
& i'm totally getting into the spirit now too (albeit early, but whatever :)
i've still got 3 birthdays to throw, but today i bought little 4 foot christmas trees for my kids' rooms....a pink feather one for the girls & a green tinsel one for ryan....i can't wait to make paper garlands & sparkly snowflakes w/ them to decorate it :)
& i'm thinking this afternoon i'll make some pumpkin bread....my oldest turns 6 on monday & we are going on a birthday hike up bear mountain tomorrow morning...pumpkin bread will be delish in her little backpack :)

oooh & here is my list:
- brandy alexanders (a kennedy christmas tradition)
- appetizers galore, no dinner
- dean martin & harry connick jr, singing christmas tunes
- the city all dolled up in lights
- the ringing of the salvation army santas
- decorated shop windows
- ice skating in central park & hot cocoa afterwards
- making cookies w/ the kids
- homemade presents
- coffee with friends during shopping trips
- jeans, sweaters & socks

I'm still stuck on the pumpkin spice latte - just had one at the grocery.
--christmas cookies out the wazoo!
--making, giving and receiving lots of holiday cards
--wrapping presents
--outside lights
--wool sweaters and blankets
--wine and cheese
--holiday craftiness
--smell of fresh cut trees

* hot chocolate while driving around looking at Christmas lights
* Christmas morning excitement
* Christmas eve with our family
* snuggling on the couch in our jammies with a fire going, our tree up,
watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas
* picking out/decorating our tree
* opening the advent calender surprise every morning

deffinitly one of my favs.. love the all the claymation ones.
i am putting up my tree this week and i already bought my wrapping paper for this year (each year has to have it's own paper)
oh how i love this time of the year....

Ooooo, I just had a Peppermint Mocha Latte from SB today. OMGosh. It was like Christmas in a coffee cup! :)
Some other faves:
- the smell of fresh pine
- unwrapping all my little Christmas ornament and decorating treasures
- holiday get-togethers
- family time, seeing loved ones I haven't seen for a while
- the annual chamber chorus and chamber orchestra concert we go to that gets us in the mood every year
- big fat snowflakes
- the first snow that sticks
- sitting in front of the tree with no lights on but the tree lights (at night)
- the Christmas Eve service at church
- the excitement of getting a surprise gift for someone that you know they'll love
- Christmas cookies! (duh!)
- Bing singing White Christmas
- our fave Christmas movies: White Christmas, A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, The Bishop's Wife, The Grinch and, best of all, It's A Wonderful Life which we get to see on the big screen this year, preceeded by cocktails and hors d'oeuvres! SA-weet!!! :)

- unwrapping all my little Christmas ornament and decorating treasures
LOVE that...it is like a trip down memory lane each time...
& i put the kids' trees up in their rooms yesterday...they LOVE them! my son decorated his with his tiny football helmets that he earns for being good/doing his jobs...& they've been making "elise" ornaments too for their trees...
i can't wait to put a few prezzies under there on christmas eve :)

this thread totally made me smile :) lets see...
*i love that its sweater weather
*i love making my famous cheeseball for everyone i know
*the hustle and bustle at the stores (as long as im not working in one! haha)
*spending black friday with the only person in the world that gets me...shes my person :)
*playing old christmas songs while we decorate the tree
*christmas morning at my grandparents house---listening to johnny cash
*my gmas cranberry salad that i cant live without (i eat all of it by myself every year!)
*seeing the amazement on my kids faces on christmas morning
*the complete silence that takes over the house on christmas eve after the kids are in bed and all the presents are under the tree
wow i could go on for days about all the little things! haha such a great thread :)
