I just moved here from Seattle and need some help. I have an almost 5yo and 2yo that need some time away from me for just a little bit each week. I checked into a Montessori school nearby and almost laughed in the lady's face when she handed me the price sheet.
My friend has a kid in Montessori and says he's still learning letter sounds. Mine can read. Not to compare, but I'm not gonna pay $800/mo for them to teach him something he already knows.
So, I'm looking for a Mother's Morning Out or some type of a private school that is not $800/mo in the Tempe/Ahwautukee area.
I would greatly appreciate any advice! Thanks
:)

Dayspring United Methodist Church has a PERFECT preschool, pre-k and Kindergarten program. My son went there and my daughter will next year. They also have child care. I have to say, though, they are coveted. There could be a waiting list. They are in Tempe on Elliot and McClintock.
They have a website. But, I believe the 3 days a week preschool is about $177 a month.
And, welcome to the Tempe area!!! I live about a mile from this preschool. Good luck.

Welcome to Phoenix! My daughter is in first grade, so I don't have any advice in regard to littles. Hope you find something that works for you!

thanks. Phoenix is actually kind of a second home. It seems to be our own little Bermuda Triangle. We just keep coming back!
However, we always end up in different parts of the city.
Is there anything in the Tempe area that is a must do?

Ikea? Hee. The area near the school is fab - lots of great places to eat/see/shop. I live in Scottsdale so if you want ideas for around here, I got 'em. :)
