nanbhack SISter Elle (1594)	# Posted: 10 Oct 2007 14:24 HI Guys - Things are going crazy at work and I may be demoted/promoted/moved into a new role and no one is telling me anything. So with that being said - can you say a little something something that all goes okay and if this is indeed an "opportunity" that it will work for me? In the past, the "opportunity" was not an advantage for me and it was either "our way or the highway" type of mentality. I love where I work and I am learning so much - it is just - if they could tell me it now instead of having me on pins and needles thinking the worst - it would be so appreciated. I know... let's not worry until we NEED to worry - right? whine easier said than don - you know? /whine I told my boss I would trust him on this... but not getting the warm fuzzies ..... Now that I am on my home computer with my puggy by my side - I can give you a bit more details... Long story short - I am meeting with my supervisor and career councelor(CC) next tuesday and they wont tell me WHAT FOR. Besides that just being unprofessional - it is just not fair. When asked - what can I do to prepare for it - they say not to worry - there is nothing to prepare for. So I am like um - okay than why is my CC there? I am above average employee, I am not late, I am a hard worker - what the heck GIVES? So this makes one think the crazyiest things! I am trying to run through my head every possible "what if" - and I still can not figure what is going on. I think it is either - a lateral (sp?) transfer to another organization - which is not a bad thing. or a lateral transfer to another department that I may think is a demotion or releveling - but really - that department is being "reenginneered" hence - it might actually be a good thing. Since I have been with the company for close to 9 years - I have some prejudices that may not be right. And I should correct them - but it is so hard to do when you are so much closer to that "outsource" cut off. A very good friend who is a councelor said - a) if you were fired - you would be gone and b) they wont be letting you go because they have allowed you to take a certification exam that will actually benefit THEM. Also I am running a study group - so they would have put the k-posh on it along time ago. She also said it is better to be moving around an organization than staying in one place. So even though change is tough - and I have had loads of tough change in my personal life - take the opportunity -get your certification and than worry about that next step. Personally - I want to keep on my career path of what I am doing now. My new boss is bringing in his old friends or his own team. He is also a power hungry guy - hence the reason why he is making me wait. For instance he told me to read "the one minute manager". I did - and I did it to him which shocked the you know what out of him. I think either he has low expectations of me? Or He just doesn;t know me. I think it is the latter. I think I know the reason why - I looked at my resume(we have an online one for clients) and I so thought it was updated - but it looks like it was NOT! So what i did was update and right now it is waiting to be reviewed tomorrow after a fresh start and than I am emailing it to both my CC and my new boss saying - hey - I just noticed that this is not updated - hence you all should know what is going on... Anyways - need a little prayer or good karma sent my way - because this is one of the toughest pychological types of "things" I had to go through at work. Any advice you can give would be great too. Cant go into loads of details but I am going to be back to my old tactical group - but this time to reengineer them and make them strategic! however, because some folks were fishy - I asked for confirmation about my role and my title. Long story short - as long as I have the sponsorship - I feel like I can move mountains. squee I almost want to be like JK Rowling and start the highlevel outline NOW so I dont lose focus. See my new team has a very bad mindset - they will not expand their horizons. Which where I work - it is NOT a good thing. but the bottom line? It sucks that I have to cut po's but that fuels me to ensure that I get my 2 big goals DONE sooner rather than later. So ya, I am excited. It means a lot of investigation and connections - thinking back and trying to envision the goal- what could I do to really make this work type of scenarios. I am trying to stay vaque so as to not get overwhelmed. I just realized on top of the major certification that I am getting - i have to massively learn project management pronto! Does anyone know a good website I can go to for that? Also - I have to learn how to use MS project for a work plan! Basically - my world has just BALLOONED. So I am tried to put one step in front of the other. Specifically - dang it! my cordless battery died and when can I scrap! LOL Please keep those prayers coming! I will need it! HUGS! Nan

God - and I was just getting really excited/pumped up about this new role and now... THIS? Also "contemplated" - This was not an option - what was the contemplation!?! Ugh. Any thoughts my SISters? I am also trying to really just do work during the work week and not bring it home. Oh is that HARD. I have said my peace/piece to the bosses so now it is up to God and his Will. Hopefully - the powers at be will "get it", but I am dealing with a boss who a) loves power and b) once he makes up his mind - he continues to go down that path. shakes head.

I am still in shock! The email said... has been presented with and accepted a great career opportunity with another company. I seriously can't believe it!!!

I was lambasted and am being brought down a notch. It is such BS because people want to see what they want to see and they want to have people in their team who they want to have. Also the thing that is the joke of all of this? I cant have an opportunity to prove myself. I am being sent back, doing tactical and highlevel bits and oh ya - take training. shakes head because I have no idea what this means Very upsetting all around....
