Ladies:
How amazing to be able to share our hearts, requests, needs and faith journeys with fellow artists.....so awesome. I would appreciate it if you could keep our little Michigan town in prayer. We have suffered numerous unthinkable tragedies here in the past week, including the loss of two teen girls to a car accident...one of these girls was the daughter of our principal, with whom we are very good friends as my husband is also a school administrator in our district. The girls' car was hit by another car of teens, who were friends and classmates with the girls killed. That boy now lives with the guilt of their death, even though he was not in any way to blame. Then, this week, we were called back early from a Chicago vacation when one of my husband's staff teachers killed his girlfriend--another of our teachers--and then committed suicide. Both of these wonderful people were caring and committed friends and colleagues of ours, and obviously hurting in many ways that were unknown to us. Finally, on Friday, one of our main businesses in town, owned by my neighbor's parents, burned to the ground. It feels like evil is infiltrating our community, but we know that God is faithful and bigger than all this pain. He will work His Will even through these toughest of circumstances. Pray deeply for those families who are mourning loved ones, and especially for the kids in our town who are trying to deal with the deaths of friends and teachers.

Oh my goodness - what a small world - I have a cousin that lives in Byron Center. I hope the community can heal quickly and those affected find peace.

I live nearby so I hear about these events on the news, but I didn't realize they were all connected to the same town. I am so sorry for what is happening, I'll be praying.

Yes, we do have a wonderful community of SISters here. And a wonderful and caring God. I'm so thankful that you can look to him for strength and comfort at times like these. He will be the well you draw from over and over to get through this. We had a summer of tragedies in our small community two years ago - similar in some ways to your story - so I've been to that well many times and, as you know, it never runs dry.
You will be in my prayers as many tough weeks are ahead...
