it has been a weird couple of weeks around my town.
it is pretty small and in the last 2 weeks, 2 people have committed suicide.
both families affected are people that i know.
the family of the first suicide lives down the road from me. i grew up with their kids, went to the same church, were patients at my office...
needless to say that was pretty hard to hear. they are foster parents and have actually adopted some of the children. adopting and being a foster parent shows what kind of people we are dealing with. they are full of love and help, just a complete servants heart.
the husband died of carbon monoxide poisoning. i don't really know any of the other details... all together, there are 12 kids and 8 grandchildren along with mom.
the second suicide is still being investigated as they haven't officially ruled it a suicide as oppose to a homocide. again, another family i grew up with. played softball with her daughter when we were younger, husband was a teacher, hung out in the same crowds type of thing...
all of this is according to the local paper: she was reported missing on sunday, then found by her daughter and soon to be son-in-law monday morning. the cause of death was ruled asphyxiation(sp) by hanging....
i was really trying to be a strong person all day, then on my way home it hit me and i just started bawling....
i can't imagine what the son and daughter must be going through. i don't understand and am not sure i really want to.
so after my long post, if you could please say some prayers for both of these families....

Suicide is a really difficult thing to experience. Just over a year ago one of my coworkers had her ex hang himself. He was distraut over their breakup and just couldnt handle it. There are so many mixed emotions when someone takes their life. It affected all of us in the office in the strangest way. Suicide deaths are unlike death by illness or other means, I guess because we struggle with trying to understand how or why someone would resort to this permanent solution to a temporary problem.
I have to say I found many good books on dealing with this. They may be something you want to look into.
There is no way around dealing with it, like most difficult things in life, its the going thru that makes us stronger.
My prayers are with you and all the families involved. They will suffer the most and will need much prayer and support. GOD BLESS

thanks so much ladies...
and lisa... this really makes sense.

i've had a couple of friends speak to the children and they said they are coping, focusing on getting things in order and taking care of the dad.
i'll keep you posted...
