alohi Favorite SISter (5091)	# Posted: 24 Jun 2007 16:14 Could I get some prayers sent up for my husband and his grandfather? His Grandfather who is basically his Dad, raised him as if he is his son, had a massive stroke about a month ago. He is now paralyzed on the left side and is unable to do anything on his own except watch TV. He has been getting weaker as time goes by and not only is this extremely hard on my husband to see his strong role model like this but you can tell it's so hard for the Grandfather to have my husband see him that way. His grandfather doesn't want to live like this and so I'm not even sure what to pray for? Maybe that they both find some kind of peace, that they cherish the time they have/had. I don't know what would you pray for? It's overwhelming because I just want to be there for everyone and I want everyone to be ok... but I do know that there is power in prayer.

krissie SISter Superior (6069)	# Posted: 24 Jun 2007 17:13 I will pray for you. I loved my grandfather very much and when he got sick I was horrified. I honestly could not imagine life without him. So I prayed and prayed that he would be fine. He was better but always in pain, just bad health. So the next time he became sick, the nightmare started all over and I was so miserable. I was at the hospital with him everyday for 3 months. My husband was very understanding because we kinda knew this may be it. I was convicted during prayer that I was not leaving this in the Lord's hands and not ttrusting Him as I would tell others to do. So I did. I put it in His hands and just asked that His will be done and that no matter what I asked that He prepare me and my family and my grandfather for what may come. I was so much better after that prayer. He did pass on 3 months later. It was so very hard and even now I am really tearing up about this, but I was able to bear it so better because of it. I hope things work out for your family and please keep us updated. Hugs

And Thank You Cayla & Scraptologist (love that name!) for your support in prayer it means alot right now.

Thanks Kihaku and your right his mind is sharp but he's body just seems to be getting worse. We've had to go from 8-10 hours a day care to 24 hours so we'll see what this week will bring.
