Heather R Vogue SISter (3815)	# Posted: 9 Jul 2008 17:39 she saw the lymphoma cancer specialist in madison yesterday. it is the aggressive for of lymphoma which is actually good news because it was caught before it spread and the aggressive form responds very well to chemo. they expect her to respond well to treatment and it has been 7 years since her last lymphoma, so her prognosis is good. she will be in the hospital for 4 days to received the ICE chemo cocktail. then after 3-4 weeks when her white cell count is back up she will have another session in the hospital. after 2 cycles of the chemo she will have an CAT scan to determine if the cancer is in remission. if not there's another chemo cycle. when the cancer is determined to be in remission she then has a stem cell treatment that i don't understand at all. but, the idea is that it will kill any remaining lymphoma cells in her body. so, after it's all over she shouldn't have any more lymphoma ever.
kylissa Model SISter (2349)	# Posted: 9 Jul 2008 17:53 many thoughts and prayers your way- my sister had hodgkins lymphoma (at the time she found out she was diagnosed with colon cancer- but they soon found out she had BOTH)... the best advice is to keep her spirits up...encourage her to fight
