nanbhack SISter Elle (1594)	# Posted: 20 Jun 2008 10:28 Hi my SISters... if I seemed a little "off" during SISinversary is because I found out my work collegue-who I adore - is terminally ill with cancer. I got the email while I was at SIScon - but I wanted to talk to my workmates before I published anything because I was hoping against hope that this was all a cruel joke. Now unfortunately it seems like it is not. Claude has moved back to Canada (where her family is) and we are donating money for the move and for her comfort. I have lost my husband, my dad and many family members - but never someone that I worked with closely who was like a mentor to me. I am still in a bit of a shock from it all. I know, isn't that strange? You would think I would just 'fluf" it off ... but the weird thing is they basically told us she is moving back home to die.... I guess I have always dealt with people where you hope against hope that they will get better... not something well - there is nothing you can do ... so they are just going home to die... if that makes sense? I just feel powerless. I heard that everyone at the office was crying... and we are all type A crazies, so you know that is a big deal. Please say a prayer for Claude and her family. Thanks all hugs
